Future circus: a performer-guided mixed-reality performance art

Published: 07 September 2015 Publication History

Abstract

This paper introduces a novel performer-guided style of mixed-reality performance art, which facilitates impromptu performance of the dancers. With this approach, the virtual characters are able to interact with live performers in realtime according to pre-programmed AI. In particular, this concept has been realized as a show called Future Circus. Meanwhile, we also briefly introduce the WISE platform, a full-stack wearable system for supporting performer-guided performance art developed by our research team.
