Enabling web object orientation with mobile devices

Published: 02 September 2009 Publication History

Abstract

We consider in this paper that mobile devices should be seen as active objects communicating through web technologies, in a sense that they can both receive and send information. Therefore, following our introduction motivating our work, we propose a lightweight architecture that enables object orientation through web technologies. This architecture is called Web Object Orientation, and focuses on widely accepted approaches such as REST and WSDL. We show how this architecture is suited for mobile devices platforms that support both HTTP and serialization like JSON or XML.
