Associative tabular data structures

Published: 01 February 1971 Publication History

Abstract

A data structure may be defined as an organized set of words (comprising more than one word) in memory for which an accessing procedure is provided. According to this definition, an ALGOL array is a data structure, as are the list structures used in LISP and the more elaborate structures of the same type in which blocks of words are linked by pointers.
