A Method for Response Integration in Federated Data Warehouses

Part of the book series: Studies in Computational Intelligence ((SCI,volume 572))

Abstract

In this paper a data integration method for data warehouse federations has been proposed. It often happens that for a query different component warehouses can generate different (even inconsistent) responses. Thus it is needed to integrate them creating a common response of the federation. In this paper the most common types of responses are discussed and an algorithm for response integration has been worked out.. We also consider a component data warehouse to be described by some factors which may be used as additional input for the integration method.
