In a situation where the glass and the liquid have matching refractive indices, the light passing through does not bend at the interface between the glass and the liquid. This lack of refraction means that there's no visual cue to indicate the presence of the glass, rendering it effectively "invisible" to the naked eye. How to Make a Rainbow Science Experiment: Refraction | Sciencing Rainbow Experiments, Light Science Experiments, Refraction Experiment, Rainbow Science Experiment, Teaching Kids Manners, Weather Unit Study, Fun Experiments For Kids, Rainbow Science, Rainbow Experiment

Children of all ages will be amazed and delighted by the results of this simple experiment to make your own rainbow. In addition, you will be teaching a memorable lesson on refraction, how light slows down and seems to bend when it hits water. After it rains, when the light hits the tiny water droplets in the air, it slows down and bends. There is the arch of the rainbow. White light (sunlight) is made up of the 7 colors of the rainbow. When refraction occurs through air moisture it causes…

Sergei Urban | Science Experiments for Kids on Instagram: "Vanishing Glass Magic! Today, Max and I dive into the intriguing world of refraction with a simple, yet mind-blowing experiment. Can you guess what happens when Pyrex meets cooking oil and water? Let’s discover! ⭕ MATERIALS: - Pyrex glass rod - Cooking oil - Water - Clear glass ⭕ INSTRUCTIONS: (1) Pour water into the glass and insert the Pyrex rod. Notice how the rod is visible. (2) Next, fill another glass with cooking oil and submerge the rod – watch as it becomes invisible! (3) For the final act, fill a glass half with water, and half with oil. Insert the rod and watch as the middle part of the rod disappears! ⭕ SCIENCE EXPLAINED: This experiment is a fantastic demonstration of light refraction. Pyrex and cooking oil have a s Oil Experiment For Kids, Water And Oil Experiment Kids, Scientific Experiments For Kids, Light Experiments For Kids, Simple Experiments For Kids, Light Science Experiments, 5th Grade Science Experiments, Refraction Experiment, Science Experiments For Middle School

You guys loved the previous science experiment, so here's another fun easy one to try!!

♥️ Draw a picture on a piece of paper (works best if the object is facing one direction or is not symmetrical) you can do something as simple as an arrow!
🧡 I like to draw another of the same picture above/below so that there is something to compare to
💛 Place your drawing behind a glass cup
💚 Slowly fill the cup with water until just over the first picture
💙 Look at it from eye level, what do you see?
💜 The bottom picture will look like it has been flipped!!

How does this work? 🤯
♥️ Refraction happens when light changes direction, or bends, when it moves from one material to another
