Lupus erythematosus is a name given to a collection of autoimmune diseases in which the human immune system becomes hyperactive and attacks normal, healthy tissues.[1] Symptoms of these diseases can affect many different body systems, including joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, heart, and lungs. The most common and severe form is systemic lupus erythematosus.

Symptoms vary from person to person, and may come and go. Almost everyone with lupus has joint pain and swelling. Some develop arthritis. Frequently affected joints are the fingers, hands, wrists, and knees. Other common symptoms include:

* chest pain when taking a deep breath
* Joint pain
* Oral ulcer
* fatigue
* fever with no other cause
* general discomfort, uneasiness, or ill feeling (malaise)
* hair loss
* sensitivity to sunlight
* skin rash – a "butterfly" rash in about half people with SLE
* swollen lymph nodes

Myasthenia gravis (pronounced My-as-theen-ee-a Grav-us) comes from the Greek and Latin words meaning "grave muscular weakness." The most common form of MG is a chronic autoimmune neuromuscular disorder that is characterized by fluctuating weakness of the voluntary muscle groups.

This disease destroys the receptor sites in the muscles that receive nerve impulses, instructing them to move. The reduction in the number of receptor sites is caused by an antibody that destroys or blocks the receptor site. MGA is estimated to effect 20 out of every 100,000 people, is not contagious or hereditary and effects all races, genders and age groups.

Common symptoms can include a drooping eyelid, blurred or double vision, slurred speech, difficulty chewing and swallowing, weakness in the arms and legs, chronic muscle fatigue, and difficulty breathing.

There is no known cure for MG, but there are effective treatments that allow many-but not all-people with MG to lead full lives. To learn more about MG, visit http://myasthenia.org/.

I have to say, between the colours and the theme and the fact that to me, cities are urban jungles and not places to be out strolling around at night in, this was a pretty tough little assignment. Still, I do hope that you like the end result.
