It has given me a great understanding of how important perfection is. So recently I've been getting a bit tired of my countrie's slow and outdated-ass politics combined with the old-ass leadership.

So thought I would install Visual Studio 2017 for Mac and ho boy what a load of shit that is!

They say it's designed to be macOS styled yet it is literally the same visual style and element location to mono-develop for linux and mac, piss poor effort when even creating new project uses the same form layout.

When you give a basic touch of modern design to a README and critize their replies they end the conversation with

'locked and limited conversation to collaborators'

If you have any project (personal or not, doesn't matter) that does not have proper code comments and documentation and you don't want to make one because of the effort (maybe even "wasted" effort), think again. When commenting on a wall of code to say what it does, you may find a better way of doing what you have to do, possibly increasing performance, or improving security.

I have been able to do better input sanitization for a method on a personal project of mine because of this.
Don't use the amount of effort for proper documentation as an excuse not to make one.

I often hear that an advantage of PWAs is that porting them to desktop / mobile requires little or none effort. IMO desktop and mobile apps fundamentally differ in the way we use them, so that building 2 versions of an application often seems easier to me.

What? Nooo really? Making Linux tools work on Windows takes more effort than on Linux? And it must totally be Windows' fault, right?

Pull your head out of the ass already. Running Windows tools on Linux takes just as much effort and just as many extra steps, and the same goes whenever you try to run any software on a system it wasn't made for.

Even if the solution is working, does not mean it is the correct and way of doing it. One can save a lot of time and effort by learning from others instead of sticking to his/her ego.

For all the effort it takes to setup CI/CD it's totally worth it. My god this is marvellous I've wasted over 40 build minutes already just to see a spinner spin until it turns green :-D

Every time I take a look at my code, I realise I should implement better error handling here and there.

And then every time I try to break my programme with erroneous input, it actually blows up, despite all my effort to prevent that 😖😖

I've been working on a side project for a while(many months) and I'm at my 3rd refactoring and concluded that the greater service I want to achieve the more complex the project become, nothing exceptional, except I feel like doing the effort of an entire team of software developers.

We had almost finished integration of debit card depositing for our application.
Yesterday, the clients told us they signed a contract with a new provider.
This is after telling us they'd signed the contract with the previous provider, but as it turns out, that's a lie.
So we have to scrap the entirety of the last 8 days work because the new provider is a shareholder in the client's company now.
The new provider doesn't have an SDK for our language, and what they do have is XML.
It's time to parse, I guess.

Not a rant, but a concern: should I make a bigger effort to take my picture off as many public places as possible on the Internet? I already use avatars for FB and Twitter profile pictures (share photos only in private). Or am I being paranoid? What do you do about it?
