One of the largest time sinks with those images here, for me at least, was the time I spent trying to explain basic concepts of anatomy and art, or explaining how to make simple edits to images, to people who had no other artistic or digital art experience at all. The concepts, the tools, and even the ability to accept and respond to criticism of their work .. all of that is missing for so many people who, however, are very capable of giving Civitai their credit card number and then copy/pasting someone else’s job, but with your favorite body part turned up to 11.

My impression is that they, the new site, will have entirely different time sinks. To start with, no arguments or lengthy debates with users about DNPs, or artist rights for AI generations, or users appealing their images being deleted for ghost signatures.

So, I don’t have the impression that the load now off of our shoulders is necessarily going to be transferred to them.

It’s just off of us.

The site is promoted since it was the choice of where to move the content, which someone offered, as opposed to just deleting it. It can fade into irrelevance after that process is finished. It’s hardly even worth discussing how bad their moderation policy even is on there or not when they are currently going to be flooded with imports from here to moderate.

Also it was already stated, this isn’t an AI ethics thread. There doesn’t need to be a comparison of AI to violent crime.

Hey, using some logic you can see, that in this analogy no one tells “baseball bats are wrong”.

And since it’s analogy, namely imaginary situation, you can use some of imagination to change some words to something like: “We think that bonking people and stealing their stuff is bad and we find it too bothersome to deal with consequences of supposed hypothetical bonking, so we don’t want to have baseball bats here… “

This does not change anything in essence in relation to what this analogy is given to. Regarding responsibility for support, in particular.

Dunno, honestly don’t care, given I use this site not that one. Take it up with them. There is a lot of discussion here that should be taking place on that new booru instead. From what I understand this thread is an announcement and discussion of content migration.

That is a false analogy. The policy change was not “because AI is wrong” it was because of an unsustainable moderation workload. A workload which is now going to be another site’s problem.

But if you like such things, you may want to check “Knives and bats” across the street (with which we are completely unaffiliated). They have all kinds. Wooden ones, metal ones, even with spikes. You can have one there and use it as you wish.”

Nice to see that Tumblr images work again! If I might suggest one feature, it’d be the ability to bulk upload, especially from Tumblr. Given that the uploader works by downloading an archive of your blog, it’d be cool if you could just feed it a bunch of links so it can do them all in one archive rather than individually downloading a new one each time.

Allow me to slightly rework Ciaran’s example. Lowes’ ad agency is Densu Creative. Densu Creative promotes Lowes. If you complain to Densu Creative about your broken lawnmower, they will tell you (politely) to get lost, that Lowes policies are Lowes problem, not theirs.

We are not representing that site’s policies or rules. They are creating their own rules, their own policies, that reflect the needs of that community and that site. You have to talk to the volunteers there. And as I think @The Frowning Pony made clear, if you want to complain about its rules, take it to them.

So to sum up. It sounds like this site’s team aware of (at least now) that’s site policies. And support it as far as they defend it here and continue to promote it. Even if not responsible for that policy in the first place. Which is never been told. Still responsible for supporting it, though. I’m not saying they doesn’t have rights for this, btw.
But telling to not being responsible for and not to support something, but still promote it looks straight up hypocritically.

That does not make this site the owner of, or responsible for, that other site’s policies and rules. They are their own site and - even if you get a response there from someone there who also volunteers here - this site has its own rules that its volunteers represent while here, and that site has its own rules which people volunteering there are responsible for representing.

So, if you have questions about their rules then please ask them.

Otherwise, it’s like asking someone at JP Morgan Chase & Company why Lowe’s won’t give you a refund for a broken lawn mower.

Funding, infrastructure, rules, etc. for that site are separate. If you don’t want to see it, stop going there, if you want to complain about its rules, take it to them.

Since this is related to YOU hosting tantabus, you should know that they are not following the rules about respecting artists and are allowing full style copycat LORAs. It’s barely even launched and it’s already a disaster case for the community health. Walking back ethical standards so they can gen free commissions and impersonations.

https://tantabus.ai/images/37376 is clearly using Dvixie LORA, and one of the same prompters using Divixie LORA was deleted here on derpi. Either stop funding this, or get it straightened out. Artists do not want to see it.

It varies by the complexity of the case and availability of the mods, but usually takes anywhere between a few days and a few weeks.

Just a question, how long does it usually take a DNP list request to go through by chance? I apologize if this has been asked before by the way. I’ve been waiting around 7 days and just wanna make sure I didn’t mess something up with it by accident.

They will also highlight differences in precise words. This diff is meant to be such that in extremely large posts or pages, where only 1 word changes, it’s possible to display just the snippet that changed with some context around it.
