Merry mushroom

I have had a lot of luck lately with these canisters! 4 of them I found over the weekend. I am bummed because two of them reek of coffee and I am not sure how to get the smell out. They are from 1983 and 1976, the older ones have mushrooms on the back as well, the newer have plain backs. They are also slightly different in size.
