Primordial’s gloves in progress, plus shots of the claws being fabricated. The claws are EVA foam, coated in silicone rubber so they are impact resistant (impact proof, really), lightweight, and abrasion-resistant.

I will say that while I’m happy with how the claws turned out, and I know they will work well, there’s probably a dozen faster ways I could have done them.

Upcoming suit: Primordial, which is based on Kothoga from “the Relic”. I sculpted a maquette to plan the general shape. The head base sculpt was made as generic as possible so that it can be used to make other monsters, too

I’ve totally dropped the ball on updating here (or anywhere), I’m sorry, all! Rest assured, it’s not because we haven’t been making stuff. I’ll try to get everything caught up.

Gatafu’s tail wefting!

There is no airbrushing here. That gradient was created entirely by blending several colors of hair to create custom colors.

Also, I could have sworn I posted these photos a couple weeks ago, but apparently not!

Hang on to these for me for a sec.

Finished blending wefts for the tail, and apparently I’m using Gatafu’s head as a weft holder instead of the actual holder right behind it.

The Quetzal-dragon, Gatafu, so close to done! And yet, still so much to do. The head will be getting a few more touches (mainly airbrush), but other parts still have a little way to go.

The bodysuit, especially. A combination of things - some which were obvious dumb mistakes, some which defy explanation - made it necessary to completely re-do the torso and arms. The sewing on that is almost done now, at least.

There’s not that many tasks left on this project all together, but it still feels equivalent to scaling a mountain. The whole project has been so involved and has taken so long, you can start to believe that it’s impossible to actually finish.

The head is actually getting very close to done.

Polished the eyes, did some painting on the scales, and steamed the fur. Next thing will be to switch back to airbrushing/drybrushing.
