The most surprising characteristic of the Turkish Van is its relationship to water. He doesn't just love the water, he enjoys swimming! This breed originates from the Lake Van region in Turkey, where these cats have been kept in homes for many centuries. In the 1950s, a pair of Turkish Vans were brought to the UK by tourists returning from their holidays. Since then, these amazing cats have been bred in the UK.

The York Chocolate Cat is a new American breed of show cat, with a long, fluffy coat and a plumed tail. The first part of its name is taken from New York state, where it was bred in 1983.
