Adaptive reuse, or adaptive re-use in architecture, is the process of repurposing buildings that have outlived their original purposes for different reasons and adapting them to receive new different uses or functions while at the same time retaining and emphasizing their historic features.

This thesis is the exploration of community revitalization through adaptive reuse of an existing structure. The rehabilitation of this chosen industrial complex is meant to be the catalyst for growth and development within Bristol, Rhode Island.
