The Stock Mil-Spec Receiver end plate is designed to maintain the proper alignment of the buffer tube, and thus the stock. The standard Ar-15 M16 Mil-Spec Receiver End Plate features the engagement tab required to align the buttstock and buffer tube with the lower receiver on carbine models, as well as an index that further secures anti rotational properties against the lower receiver.
