English: Scarlet fever is a disease caused by an exotoxin released by en:Streptococcus pyogenes. It is characterized by sore throat, fever, a 'strawberry tongue', and a fine sandpaper rash over the upper body that may spread to cover the uvula (Forchheimer spots).
