Description
English: Norway at the outbreak of the Second World War: National merchant flag of the NORTRASHIP (Norwegian Shipping and Trade Mission), established in London in April 1940 to administer the Norwegian merchant fleet outside German-controlled areas. Also miniature ship model of MS British Columbia Express, a ship built 1936, as well as diagrams of the merchant fleet in one of the largest shipping nations in the world. Photo taken on March 31st, 2019 at the Armed Forces Museum of Norway (Forsvarsmuseet) in Oslo, Norway.


Norsk bokmål: Handelsflagg for båter og skip i Nortraship, en organisasjon som under andre verdenskrig administrerte den store norske handelsflåten utenfor tyskkontrollerte områder. Også skipsmodell av «British Columbia Express» og diagrammer over tankskiptonnasjen i Norge som en ledende sjøfartsnasjon i verden.
