Description
  • Italiano: Wilhelm von Gloeden (1856–1931), "Un desiderio". Foto numero 0969 (Maria Intelisano, nipote del parroco di Castelmola, amico di Gloeden). Già nella collezione Texbraun, cortesia della Galerie David Guiraud, Paris. Sul retro appare la scritta (non di mano di Gloeden): "Eleonora Duse giovane come ritenne di identificarla Gloeden facendo posare per la foto una giovane taorminese", (ossia Maria Intelisano). Questo scatto fu usato nel 1901 per un disegno di Enrico Barbèri (cfr. Pohlman, p. 43), poi stampato come "Studienkopf" ("Studio di testa") su "Die Schoenheit", I 1903, p. 127, e successivamente su "Varietas", nel luglio 1910, col titolo "Un desiderio". Da questa immagine fu tratta un'incisione, intitolata "Mignon", una cui copia è apparsa su Catawiki con firma e data 1926.

This shot was printed as "Studienkopf" ("Head studio") in "Die Schoenheit", I 1903, p. 127, and thereafter in "Varietas", July 1910, captioned "Un desiderio" ("A wish"). An etching was taken from this shot, captioned "Mignon", one copy of which was signed and dated 1926.
