Description Ensign Charles Hazeltine Hammann, USNRF, Halftone photo from Medal of Honor, 1861-1949, The Navy, page 116. Hammann was awarded the Medal of Honor for heroism in rescuing Ensign George M. Ludlow during aerial operations off Pula, Autria-Hungary, in the Adriatic Sea, on 21 August 1918.
