Description |
English: A confusion of first names exists as to the identification of the photographs concerning the Drouard sisters. Especially since the denomination of the Carnavalet Museum is unreliable.
The eldest is Henriette Victoire Drouard born in Vaudancourt in the department of Oise (France) on 10 November 1851 and died in Sainte-Barbe-sur-Gaillon in the department of Eure (France) on 24 October 1923. In 1872, Count Joseph de Susini-Ruiseco, administrator-director of the French tobacco company in Paris, will reproach Henriette Drouard for the death of her son, Viscount François de Susini-Etcheverry (21 years old), with whom she lived. The younger sister is Isabelle Adèle Drouard, born in Vaudancourt in the department of Oise (France) on 21 April 1855 and died in Sainte-Barbe-sur-Gaillon in the department of Eure (France) on 30 January 1932. In 1876, she was the first wife of the journalist and magnate of the French press, Alfred Edwards (1856-1914) of English origin. Henriette and Isabelle are both actresses and also known to be courtesans or demimondaines. The present photograph would be that of Henriette Drouard. |
