Polski: Pastel nazwany przez artystę w swym raptularzu „Żona z Helenami” powstał na kanwie portretu Teofili karmiącej synka Stasia z roku 1902 (obecnie w zbiorach Muzeum Narodowego w Warszawie). Kompozycję trzy lata późniejszą Wyspiański rozbudował o postać córki Helenki ukazanej w dwóch ujęciach na wprost i z w profilu oraz przeskalowane liście i kwiaty pelargonii w tle. Dnia 2 grudnia 1901 roku, w mieszkaniu przy ulicy Krowoderskiej, przyszło na świat ostatnie dziecko Wyspiańskich - Stanisław. Narodziny najmłodszego syna stały się dla artysty inspiracją do obrazów poświęconych najbliższej jego rodzinie, żonie i dzieciom, m.in. Macierzyństwa, zakupionego i ofiarowanego do zbiorów Muzeum Narodowego w Krakowie przez Feliksa Jasieńskiego.
