Incorrect copyright tag: this is not a coat of arms. Stefan4 (talk) 18:22, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Correct copyright tag: this is according to german standart the official seal of the University Erlangen-Nürnberg. --Korrekturen (talk) 20:19, 4 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

{{self|PD-Seal-Germany}}

Is that really a valid copyright tag? According to Commons:WikiProject Public Domain/German stamps review, the part of the law on which it is based only applies to literary works, but a seal is not a literary work. --Stefan4 (talk) 21:02, 4 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Read § 5 Abs. 1 of the German Copyright law. The part in the stamp discussion is § 5 Abs. 2. --Korrekturen (talk) 12:35, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Read Commons:WikiProject Public Domain/German stamps review. There it says that § 5 Abs. 1 only applies to text and that § 5 Abs. 2 didn't apply in that specific case. --Stefan4 (talk) 14:06, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

To understand § 5 of the German Copyright law you have to be a german copyright lawyer or judge. The "German stamps review" did not end with the delection of the images of the stamps. This is a much to complicated case to apply it on any other image. --Korrekturen (talk) 10:43, 7 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

According to the file page, the university claim copyright on this seal, so we cannot assume PD-Seal-Germany to apply. Permission required. --Krd 08:33, 9 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: per above. Krd 08:33, 9 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
