Howzit mate,

I've taken notice of your recent work concerning maps of nations which operate military vehicles. However, in the future could you please place them in the correct categories when uploading? The correct category should be Category:Armored fighting vehicle operators maps. If it's a map pertaining to specifically APC, armored car, or tank operators you can add them to the relevant sub-category.

Simply copy and paste this: [[Category:Armored fighting vehicle operators maps]] to the bottom of your upload description every time you add a new file. If it's not necessarily an armored vehicle, like a Humvee map, use this tag instead: [[Category:Military vehicle operators maps]]

Thanks!

--Katangais (talk) 15:55, 10 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

In response to your last message, the category for military aircraft is [[Category:Military Aircraft Operators Maps]] and the category for artillery is [[Category:Artillery operators maps]]. If the artillery is self-propelled and has armour on it, you can also add it to [[Category:Armored fighting vehicle operators maps]]. If the artillery is like an MLRS on an unarmoured truck (like the BM-21 Grad), it can also be added to [[Category:Military vehicle operators maps]].
Hope this helps! --Katangais (talk) 13:42, 1 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi,

The map you updated with the users of the military version of Mercedes g wagon highlights India as a user, however it is not and is also missing from the description list of the users. Please rectify it.

cheers

Hi, I'll get right on it. Also, next time you'd like to leave a message, feel free to use the add topic button in the top right, it's easier to find that way. Anyway, thanks for letting me know! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jurryaany (talk • contribs) 22:00, 16 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Jurryaany!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

I couldn't find the correct color blue today when I uploaded an updated version of File:9K114 operators.png; a file that you created in 2015. Using "Microsoft Paint" I gave up finding the correct color after some 20+ tries....... So you may want to fix the file (although I think most people will probably not notice that Ukraine has a slightly different color on the map). — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 20:57, 30 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Tunisia has never received the Saudi AMX-30s. Can you rectify the map of operators? Source, the following book presented by its author here: : http://conops-mil.blogspot.fr/2017/05/livre-les-forces-armees-africaines-2016.html L'amateur d'aéroplanes (talk) 07:26, 5 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

I will update the map to reflect the changes in the article, but I will not personally be adding that source. For one it is a blogspot source and for another I can't actually read French, and thus I cannot verify it. Feel free to add it yourself though. Jurryaany (talk) 00:19, 6 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
Edit: It appears I misread your comment. I am not familiar with the actual operators on such a level, I think it's a better idea to start a topic on the talk page of the article. Jurryaany (talk) 00:21, 6 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
Edit 2: I have gone ahead and made a new section about it on the talk page of the article which you can view here: [[1]] Jurryaany (talk) 00:25, 6 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Super Tucano Operators

edit

Hello,

I saw you have updated the Embraer 314 Super Tucano operators map, updating Mozambique as an operator. They aren´t Super Tucano operator´s and they never were. This is explained in the wikipedia article in portuguese and english. Do you have any source that says Mozambique is a Super Tucano Operator?

If you do, please, post it in the Super Tucano article or update the Operators Map, removing Mozambique, otherwise.

Mozambique is only a potencial operator.

I had supplied sources with my claim but it seems it has been removed entirely by you, you supplied a Portuguese source that claims the deal was canceled and moved it to potential operators, so that checks out. I'll correct its grammar and update the map to reflect this new information. Thank you. Jurryaany (talk) 07:00, 17 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi there, Whilst reading the article, I couldn’t help but notice that some of the countries mentioned and the map colour weren’t matching up entirely. For example, Bangladesh was said not to operate the Type 63 anymore but no external evidence could be found and countries like Sudan was listed but not coloured in and countries were listed in the wrong colours (like Zaire) I believe there were some more too. Update request 2

edit

@Jurryaany: I assume that you have used a template map for Soviet military equipment that labels the countries of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania as users of almost the entire fleet of Soviet equipment. Intuitively, that makes sense, but in reality the countries of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania have never used most of these. Bear in mind that neither of these 3 countries were a part of the Soviet Union, they were occupied by the Soviet Union, which operated the equipment on their territories. So the map is incorrect and misleading as it implies that they have been used by the 3 respective militaries after regaining independence. That is simply not the case. Can you update the map by removing the red labels? If not, I will update all the maps on my own in the coming weeks manually. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 185.68.170.114 (talk) 07:40, 30 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
