  108. Second, we investigate the extent to which the transmission mechanism has changed through the years. We focus on two important worldwide phenomena, the effect of the globalization and the recent US financial crisis. We find that the impact of the shock in all economic variables in most countries other than the USA has fallen under global integration. For the 2007 financial crisis, our results indicate that the majority of countries witness an increase in the size of the shock to real activity, inflation and credit variables in the post-crisis period.
