If you use the Java SDK, Rollbar just got better! We’re excited to share an update with ProGuard that makes working with modern Java and Kotlin code even easier while improving overall reliability. Proguard now supports Java versions 14 through 23, including records, sealed classes, and other advanced constructs. These updates improve parsing accuracy, ensuring smoother deobfuscation and more reliable error mapping so you can pinpoint issues faster.
We’ve also enhanced ProGuard’s Kotlin support to handle recent versions better. You’ll experience fewer issues with null pointers, and the new deobfuscation improvements make it easier to trace errors and debug Kotlin-based applications.
If you haven’t updated PyRollbar in a while, now is the time. In version 1.1.0, we improved performance by enhancing the truncation algorithm for payload size, which helps with more reliable reports and improved performance. If you’ve encountered “payload size reached” errors, these updates could resolve that issue. We’ve just released version 1.2.0, adding the ability to send custom params sent through rollbar.report_message() that are searchable through our new Item Search. Grab the latest versions hot off the press!
On the bug fix front, we’ve addressed the longstanding issue where merging items would take around 20 minutes to reflect fully on the charts on the Item Detail page. Now, with our latest search enhancements, merges and unmerges are instantly reflected across our Item List and Detail pages, saving you more time debugging so you can focus on the high-priority work.
We’ve also fixed the new issue where Github Code-Context was unavailable for a few accounts, the page crashes when merging certain items, and the problem with Azure SAML logins.
