Enrollment Options

Courses are offered each semester and follow The University of Texas at Austin’s academic calendar. Admitted applicants must begin courses during the semester for which they applied for admission (either the fall or spring semester). Students are required to be enrolled in at least one course (3 hours) during each long semester (fall and spring semesters). Enrollment during the summer semester is optional.

Students may choose to enroll on a part-time (1-2 courses per semester long) or full-time basis (minimum of 3 but no more than 5 courses per long semester). For working professionals, we recommend taking one to two courses per long semester, particularly during your first few semesters.

Students are allowed a maximum of six years to complete their master’s degree.

Tuition & Fees

$10,000

Total Tuition

$1,000

Per Course

Each semester, students are extended the following fees when applicable:

Employer Tuition Reimbursement

Students are encouraged to seek tuition reimbursement through their employer. If you work at a company that offers tuition benefits, speak with your manager or HR department to see what’s available to you.

Financial Aid & Scholarships

Graduate students pursuing a master’s online may apply for federal, and institutional financial aid programs administered by the Office of Financial Aid by completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Once this form has been submitted, you may also sign up to receive your Financial Aid Notification (FAN) electronically. You will need to complete the FAFSA each fiscal year (October 1st) if you wish to receive aid.

Additionally, UT Austin’s Texas One Stop also offers the following information on different ways to pay for your degree:

Once admitted, we encourage all students to check their UT CASH (Check Aid Status Here) page weekly to verify they have completed all pending items.
