A Lorentz-Equivariant Transformer for All of the LHC
/ Brehmer, Johann (Unlisted, NL) ; Bresó, Víctor (U. Heidelberg, ITP) ; de Haan, Pim (Unlisted, NL) ; Plehn, Tilman (U. Heidelberg, ITP ; U. Heidelberg (main)) ; Qu, Huilin (CERN) ; Spinner, Jonas (U. Heidelberg, ITP) ; Thaler, Jesse (MIT, Cambridge, CTP)
We show that the Lorentz-Equivariant Geometric Algebra Transformer (L-GATr) yields state-of-the-art performance for a wide range of machine learning tasks at the Large Hadron Collider. [...]

Interpolating amplitudes
/ Bresó, Víctor (U. Heidelberg, ITP) ; Heinrich, Gudrun (KIT, Karlsruhe, TP) ; Magerya, Vitaly (CERN) ; Olsson, Anton (KIT, Karlsruhe, TP)
While the calculation of scattering amplitudes at higher orders in perturbation theory has reached a high degree of maturity, their usage to produce physical predictions within Monte Carlo programs is often hampered by the slow evaluation of the multi-loop amplitudes, especially so for amplitudes calculated numerically. [...]

O new physics, where art thou? A global search in the top sector

We provide a comprehensive global analysis of Run II top measurements at the LHC in terms of dimension-6 operators. A distinctive feature of the top sector as compared to the Higgs-electroweak sector is the large number of four-quark operators. [...]

More and Better Fat Jets for a Light Higgs
/ Mangano, Michelangelo L. (CERN) ; Plehn, Tilman (U. Heidelberg, ITP) ; Reimitz, Peter (U. Heidelberg, ITP) ; Schell, Torben (U. Heidelberg, ITP) ; Shao, Hua-Sheng (CERN)
We propose a measurement of the top Yukawa coupling at a 100 TeV hadron collider, based on boosted Higgs and top decays. We find that the top Yukawa coupling can be measured to 1%, with excellent handles for reducing systematic and theoretical uncertainties..

This report summarizes the presentations and discussions during the Rapid Reaction Task Force "Dynamics of critical fluctuations: Theory -- phenomenology -- heavy-ion collisions", which was organized by the ExtreMe Matter Institute EMMI and held at GSI, Darmstadt, Germany in April 2019. We address the current understanding of the dynamics of critical fluctuations in QCD and their measurement in heavy-ion collision experiments. [...]

Hyperon signatures in the PANDA experiment at FAIR
/ PANDA Collaboration
We present a detailed simulation study of the signatures from the sequential decays of the triple-strange pbar p -> Ω+Ω- -> K+ΛbarK- Λ -> K+pbarπ+K-pπ- process in the PANDA central tracking system with focus on hit patterns and precise time measurement. [...]

Fast resonance decays in nuclear collisions
/ Mazeliauskas, Aleksas (CERN ; U. Heidelberg, ITP) ; Floerchinger, Stefan (U. Heidelberg, ITP) ; Grossi, Eduardo (U. Heidelberg, ITP ; SUNY, Stony Brook) ; Teaney, Derek (SUNY, Stony Brook)
We present a new method to calculate the final decay spectrum of direct resonance decays directly from hydrodynamic fields on a freeze-out surface. The method is based on identifying components of the final particle spectrum that transform in an irreducible way under rotations in the fluid-restframe. [...]
