HOM Coupler Design and Optimization for the FCC-ee W Working Point / Udongwo, Sosoho-Abasi (U. Rostock) ; Calaga, Rama (CERN) ; Gorgi Zadeh, Shahnam (CERN) ; van Rienen, Ursula (U. Rostock)
A 2-cell 400 MHz superconducting radio-frequency cavity with improved damping has been designed as an alternative to the baseline 4-cell cavity for the W working point of the future circular lepton collider (FCC-ee). For this cavity, the longitudinal higher-order modes’ (HOMs) impedance stay under the beam stability threshold value. [...]

Optimization of Two-Cell Cavities for the W and H Working Points of the FCC-ee Considering Higher-Order Mode Effects / Udongwo, Sosoho-Abasi (Rostock U.) ; Calaga, Rama (CERN) ; Gorgi Zadeh, Shahnam (Rostock U.) ; van Rienen, Ursula (Rostock U.)
The lepton collider of the future circular collider (FCC-ee) aims at conducting precision measurements on the Z, W, and H bosons and the top quark. The present RF baseline considers single-cell cavities at 400 MHz for the high current Z-pole working point, four-cell 400 MHz cavities for the W and H working points, and a hybrid RF system composed of four-cell 400 MHz and five-cell 800 MHz cavities for the high energy tt working point. [...]

Transverse Coherent Instability Studies for the High-Energy Part of the Muon Collider Complex / Amorim, David (CERN) ; Batsch, Fabian (CERN) ; Bottura, Luca (CERN) ; Calzolari, Daniele (CERN) ; Carli, Christian (CERN) ; Chancé, Antoine (IRFU, Saclay) ; Damerau, Heiko (CERN) ; Grudiev, Alexej (CERN) ; Lechner, Anton (CERN) ; Métral, Elias (CERN) et al.
The International Muon Collider Collaboration (IMCC) is studying a 3 TeV center-of-mass muon collider ring, as well as a possible next stage at 10 TeV. Muons being 200 times heavier than electrons, limitations from synchrotron radiation are mostly suppressed, but the muon decay drives the accelerator chain design. [...]

Longitudinal beam dynamics and RF requirements for a chain of muon RCSs / Batsch, Fabian (CERN) ; Amorim, David (CERN) ; Carli, Christian (CERN) ; Damerau, Heiko (CERN) ; Grudiev, Alexej (CERN) ; Karpov, Ivan (CERN) ; Métral, Elias (CERN) ; Schulte, Daniel (CERN) ; Chance, Antoine (IRFU, Saclay)
A facility for the collision of muons offers a unique path to a compact lepton collider with an energy reach in the multi-TeV regime, well beyond the possibilities of conventional electron accelerators. However, due to the short lifetime of muons, the constraints for acceleration and collisions are very different. [...]

In the framework of the International Muon Collider Collaboration, a 10 TeV muon collider ring is being studied, with the option of an intermediate 3 TeV collider stage. The decay of high-energy muons represents a great challenge in terms of heat load management and radiation shielding for the superconducting magnets of the collider ring. [...]

The International Muon Collider Collaboration is currently investigating the possibility to build a muon collider with a center of mass energy of 3 TeV in a first phase, with an option to build a 10 TeV collider in a second phase. The muon beam decay is the global challenge of such a collider and fast acceleration is required to reach high luminosities. [...]
