Design and characterization of an antiproton deceleration beamline for the PUMA experiment / Fischer, Jonas (Darmstadt, Tech. U.) ; Schmidt, Alexander (Darmstadt, Tech. U.) ; Azaryan, Nikolay (CERN) ; Butin, François (CERN) ; Somoza, Jose Ferreira (CERN) ; Husson, Audric (Darmstadt, Tech. U.) ; Klink, Clara (CERN) ; Obertelli, Alexandre (Darmstadt, Tech. We report on the design and characterization of an antiproton deceleration beamline, based on a pulsed drift tube, for the PUMA experiment at the Antimatter Factory at CERN. The design has been tailored to high-voltage (100 kV) and ultra-high vacuum (below $10^{-10}$ mbar) conditions. [...]

Performance of a triple-GEM detector with capacitive-sharing 3-coordinate (X–Y–U)-strip anode readout / Gnanvo, Kondo (Jefferson Lab) ; Lee, Seung Joon (Jefferson Lab) ; Mehl, Bertrand (CERN) ; de Oliveira, Rui (CERN) ; Weisenberger, Andrew (Jefferson Lab)
The concept of capacitive-sharing readout, described in detail in a previous study, offers the possibility for the development of high-performance three-coordinates (X-Y-U)-strip readout for Micro Pattern Gaseous Detectors (MPGDs) using simple standard PCB fabrication techniques. Capacitive-sharing (X-Y-U)-strip readout allows simultaneous measurement of the Cartesian coordinates x and y of the position of the particles together with a third coordinate u along the diagonal axis in a single readout PCB. Development and commissioning of ion-optical elements for ion and antiproton beams with energies up to 5 keV / Klink, Clara (Darmstadt, Tech. U. ; CERN) ; Schlaich, Moritz (Darmstadt, Tech. U.) ; Fischer, Jonas (Darmstadt, Tech. U.) ; Obertelli, Alexandre (Darmstadt, Tech. U.) ; Schmidt, Alexander (Darmstadt, Tech. U.) ; Wienholtz, Frank (Darmstadt, Tech. U.)
In nuclear and atomic physics experiments, charged ion beams often need to be guided from the ion production to the experimental site. In the PUMA experiment, an ion source beamline was developed, which can be operated with up to \SI5{\kilo\electronvolt} beam energy at a base pressure of $10^{-9}$ mbar or better. [...]

Systematic investigation of critical charge limits in Thick GEMs / Gasik, P. (Darmstadt, GSI ; FAIR, Darmstadt) ; Lautner, L. (CERN ; Munich, Tech. U.) ; Fabbietti, L. (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Fribert, H. (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Klemenz, T. (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Mathis, A. (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Ulukutlu, B. (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Waldmann, T. (Munich, Tech. U.)
We present discharge probability studies performed with a single Thick Gas Electron Multiplier (THGEM) irradiated with alpha particles in Ar-CO$_2$ and Ne-CO$_2$ mixtures. We observe a clear dependency of the discharge stability on the noble gas and quencher content pointing to lighter gases being more stable against the development of streamer discharges. [...]

Nuclear charge radius of $^{26m}$Al and its implication for V$_{ud}$ in the quark-mixing matrix / Plattner, P. (CERN ; Innsbruck U. ; Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Wood, E. (Liverpool U.) ; Ayoubi, L. Al (Jyvaskyla U.) ; Beliuskina, O. (Jyvaskyla U.) ; Bissell, M.L. (Manchester U. ; CERN) ; Blaum, K. (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Campbell, P. (Manchester U.) ; Cheal, B. (Liverpool U.) ; de Groote, R.P. (Jyvaskyla U.) ; Devlin, C.S. (Liverpool U.) et al.
Collinear laser spectroscopy was performed on the isomer of the aluminium isotope $^{26m}$Al. The measured isotope shift to $^{27}$Al in the $3s^{2}3p\;^{2}\!P^\circ_{3/2} \rightarrow 3s^{2}4s\;^{2}\!S_{1/2}$ atomic transition enabled the first experimental determination of the nuclear charge radius of $^{26m}$Al, resulting in $R_c$=\qty{3.130±.015}{\femto\meter}. KATRIN background due to surface radioimpurities / KATRIN Collaboration
The goal of the KArlsruhe TRItrium Neutrino (KATRIN) experiment is the determination of the effective electron antineutrino mass with a sensitivity of 0.2 eV/c$^2$ at 90% C.L. This goal can only be achieved with a very low background level in the order of 0.01 counts per second. [...]

The Silicon Electron Multiplier sensor / Halvorsen, Marius Mæhlum (CERN ; Oslo U.) ; Coco, Victor (CERN) ; Gkougkousis, Evangelos Leonidas (CERN) ; Collins, Paula (CERN) ; Girard, Olivier (CEA-DTA-LETI, Grenoble)
The Silicon Electron Multiplier (SiEM) is a novel sensor concept for minimum ionizing particle (MIP) detection which uses internal gain and fine pitch to achieve excellent temporal and spatial resolution. In contrast to sensors where the gain region is induced by doping (LGADs, APDs), amplification in the SiEM is achieved by applying an electric potential difference in a composite electrode structure embedded within the silicon bulk using MEMS fabrication techniques. Extended Analysis of Neutrino-Dark Matter Interactions with Small-Scale CMB Experiments / Brax, Philippe (IPhT, Saclay ; CERN) ; van de Bruck, Carsten (Sheffield U.) ; Di Valentino, Eleonora (Sheffield U.) ; Giarè, William (Sheffield U.) ; Trojanowski, Sebastian (Warsaw, Copernicus Astron. Ctr. ; NCBJ, Warsaw)
We explore an extension of the standard $\Lambda$CDM model by including an interaction between neutrinos and dark matter, and making use of the ground based telescope data of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT). An indication for a non-zero coupling between dark matter and neutrinos (both assuming a temperature independent and $T^2$ dependent cross-section) is obtained at the 1$\sigma$ level coming from the ACT CMB data alone and when combined with the Planck CMB and Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO) measurements. $(J/\psi, J/\psi)$, and $(\eta_c, \eta_c)$ production through two intermediate photons in electron-positron annihilation at B-factories / Bhatnagar, Shashank (Delhi U.) ; Negash, Hluf (Samara U.)
We study the processes, $e^- e^+ \rightarrow \gamma^* \gamma^* \rightarrow J/\psi +J/\psi$, and $e^- e^+ \rightarrow \gamma^* \gamma^* \rightarrow \eta_c+ \eta_c$ at $\sqrt{s}=10.6$ GeV in the framework of $4\times 4$ Bethe-Salpeter equation. For $J/\psi+J/\psi$ production, the dominant contribution is through fragmentation process, while for $\eta_c+\eta_c$ production, the quark rearrangement diagrams contribute. [...]
