Optimization of neutrino oscillation facilities for large \theta_{13} / Coloma, Pilar (Madrid, Autonoma U. ; Madrid, IFT) ; Fernandez-Martinez, Enrique (CERN)
Up to now, future neutrino beam experiments have been designed and optimized in order to look for CP violation, \theta_{13} and the mass hierarchy under the conservative assumption that \theta_{13} is very small. However, the recent results from T2K and MINOS favor a \theta_{13} which could be as large as 8^{\circ}. [...]

Long baseline Super-Beam experiments in Europe within LAGUNA / Coloma, Pilar (Madrid, Autonoma U.) ; Li, Tracey (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Pascoli, Silvia (Durham U., IPPP)
We explore the physics reach of several possible configurations for a Super-Beam experiment in Europe, focusing on the possibilities of discovering $\theta_{13}$, CP violation in the leptonic sector and the ordering of neutrino mass eigenstates. We consider the three different detector technologies: Water \v{C}erenkov, Liquid Argon and Liquid Scintillator, and seven possible sites in Europe which would be able to host such a detector underground. Physics reach of CERN-based SuperBeam neutrino oscillation experiments / Coloma, Pilar (Virginia Tech.) ; Fernandez-Martinez, Enrique (CERN) ; Labarga, Luis (Madrid, Autonoma U.)
We compare the physics potential of two representative options for a SuperBeam in Europe, studying the achievable precision at 1\sigma with which the CP violation phase (\delta) could be measured, as well as the mass hierarchy and CP violation discovery potentials. The first setup corresponds to a high energy beam aiming from CERN to a 100 kt liquid argon detector placed at the Pyh\"asalmi mine (2300 km), one of the LAGUNA candidate sites. [...]

EURONU WP6 2009 yearly report: Update of the physics potential of Nufact, superbeams and betabeams / Bernabeu, J ; Blennow, M ; Coloma, P ; Donini, A ; Espinoza, C ; Fernandez-Martinez, E ; Hernandez, P ; Huber, P ; Kopp, J ; Longhin, A et al.
Many studies in the last ten years have shown that we can measure the unknown angle theta13, discover leptonic CP violation and determine the neutrino hierarchy in more precise neutrino oscillation experiments, searching for the subleading channel nue -> numu in the atmospheric range. [...]

A comparative study of long-baseline superbeams within LAGUNA for large $\theta_{13}$ / Coloma, Pilar (Virginia Tech. ; Madrid, IFT) ; Li, Tracey (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Pascoli, Silvia (Durham U., IPPP)
The Daya Bay and RENO experiments have recently observed a non-zero $\theta_{13}$ at more than $5\sigma$ CL. [...]

Precision on leptonic mixing parameters at future neutrino oscillation experiments / Coloma, Pilar (Virginia Tech.) ; Donini, Andrea (Madrid, IFT ; Valencia U., IFIC ; Valencia U.) ; Fernandez-Martinez, Enrique (CERN) ; Hernandez, Pilar (Valencia U., IFIC ; Valencia U.)
We perform a comparison of the different future neutrino oscillation experiments based on the achievable precision in the determination of the fundamental parameters theta_{13} and the CP phase, delta, assuming that theta_{13} is in the range indicated by the recent Daya Bay measurement. We study the non-trivial dependence of the error on delta on its true value. [...]

Plans for super-beams in Japan / Hasegawa, Takuya (KEK, Tsukuba)
In Japan, as the first experiment utilizes J-PARC (Japan Proton Accelerator Research Complex) neutrino facility, T2K (Tokai to Kamioka Long Baseline Neutrino Experiment) starts operation. T2K is supposed to give critical information, which guides the future direction of the neutrino physics. [...]
