710 kW stable average-power in a 45,000 finesse two-mirror optical cavity / Lu, Xin-Yi (Tsinghua University) ; Martens, Aurelien (Université Paris-Saclay (FR))
Very-high average optical enhancement cavities are be- ing used both in fundamental and applied research. The most demanding applications require stable megawatt level average power of infrared picosecond pulses with repetition rates of several tens of MHz. [...]

Stable 500 kW average power of infrared light in a finesse 35,000 enhancement cavity / Lu, Xin-Yi (Tsinghua University)
Advances in laser technology over the past 25 years have been impressive, in particular for the Ytterbium technology where nowadays kW-class laser systems are available. This technology also led to the possibility to provide hundreds of kilowatts of laser power by the use of enhancement cavities. [...]

Test facility for investigation of heating of 30 GHz accelerating structure imitator for the CLIC project / Elzhov, A V ; Ginzburg, N S ; Kaminsky, A K ; Kuzikov, S V ; Perelshtejn, E A ; Peskov, N Yu ; Petelin, M I ; Sedykh, S N ; Sergeev, A P ; Sergeev, A S et al.
Since 2001 an experimental test facility for investigation of lifetime of a copper material, with respect to multiple RF pulse actions, was set up on the basis of the JINR (Dubna) FEM oscillator, in collaboration with IAP RAS (Nizhny Novgorod). A high-Q copper cavity, which simulates the parameters of the accelerating structure of the collider CLIC at an operating frequency of 30GHz, is used in the investigation. [...]

Design of the optical system for the gamma factory proof of principle experiment at the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron / Martens, Aurélien (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Cassou, Kevin (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Chiche, Ronic (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Dupraz, Kevin (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Nutarelli, Daniele (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Peinaud, Yann (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Zomer, Fabian (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Dutheil, Yann (CERN) ; Goddard, Brennan (CERN) ; Krasny, Mieczyslaw Witold (CERN) et al.
The Gamma Factory proof of principle experiment aims at colliding laser pulses with ultrarelativistic partially stripped ion beams at the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron. Its goals include the first demonstration of fast cooling of ultrarelativistic ion beams and opening up many possibilities for new physics measurements in various domains from atomic physics to particle physics. Continuously tunable pulsed Ti:Sa laser self-seeded by an extended grating cavity / Li, Ruohong (TRIUMF) ; Lassen, Jens (TRIUMF ; Manitoba U. ; Simon Fraser U.) ; Rothe, Sebastian (CERN ; Manchester U.) ; Teigelhöfer, Andrea (TRIUMF ; Manitoba U.) ; Mostamand, Maryam (TRIUMF ; Manitoba U.)
A continuously tunable titanium:sapphire (Ti:Sa) laser self-seeded by an extended grating cavity was demonstrated and characterized. By inserting a partially reflecting mirror inside the cavity of a classic single-cavity grating laser, two oscillators are created: a broadband power oscillator, and a narrowband oscillator with a prism beam expander and a diffraction grating in Littrow configuration.
