Topological studies of light-flavor hadron production in pp, p-Pb, and Pb-Pb collisions with ALICE at the LHC / Tripathy, Sushanta (Mexico U., ICN) /ALICE Collaboration
Recent results for high multiplicity pp and p-Pb collisions have revealed that they exhibit heavy-ion-like behaviors. To understand the origin(s) of these unexpected phenomena, event shape observables such as transverse spherocity ($S_{\rm 0}^{p_{\rm T} = 1}$) and the relative transverse activity classifier ($R_{\rm{T}}$) can be exploited as a powerful tools to disentangle soft (non-perturbative) and hard (perturbative) particle production. Topological studies of light-flavor hadron production in high multiplicity pp collisions with ALICE at the LHC / Tripathy, Sushanta (Mexico U., ICN) /ALICE Collaboration
Recent measurements in high-multiplicity pp and p-A collisions have revealed that these small collision systems exhibit collective-like behaviour, formerly thought to be achievable only in heavy-ion collisions. To understand the origins of these unexpected phenomena, event shape observables can be exploited, as they serve as a powerful tool to disentangle soft and hard contributions to particle production. Particle Production as a Function of Underlying-event Activity and Search for Jet-like Modifications in \(pp\), \(p\)–Pb, and Pb–Pb Collisions at \(\sqrt {s_{NN}}=5.02\)\thinspace TeV with ALICE / Ortiz, Antonio (CERN ; UNAM, Mexico) /ALICE Collaboration
The similarity between small- and large-collision systems is explored using the charged-particle multiplicity in the transverse region, $N^{\rm T}_{\rm ch}$, which is sensitive to the underlying event. Measurements of charged-particle production as a function of $N^{\rm T}_{\rm ch}$ in pp, p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}=5.02$ TeV in the toward, away and transverse regions are discussed. Predictions on global properties in O+O collisions at the Large Hadron Collider using a multi-phase transport model / Behera, Debadatta (Indian Inst. Tech., Indore) ; Mallick, Neelkamal (Indian Inst. Tech., Indore) ; Tripathy, Sushanta (INFN, Bologna) ; Prasad, Suraj (Indian Inst. Tech., Indore) ; Mishra, Aditya Nath (Wigner RCP, Budapest) ; Sahoo, Raghunath (Indian Inst. Tech., Indore ; CERN)
Oxygen ($^{16}$O) ions are planned to be injected at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in its next runs, and a day of physics run is anticipated for O+O collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}$ = 7 TeV. As the system size of O+O collisions has the final state multiplicity overlap with those produced in pp, p+Pb and Pb+Pb collisions, the study of global properties in O+O collisions may provide a deeper insight into the heavy-ion-like behavior observed in small collision systems and its similarities/differences with a larger system like Pb+Pb collisions. Studies related to heavy-ion collisions at the most powerful particle accelerators in the world, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, Switzerland, and the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) at BNL, USA, have primarily focused on the creation and properties of the primordial matter consisting [...]

Multiplicity and centre-of-mass energy dependence of light-flavor hadron production in pp, p$-$Pb, and Pb$-$Pb collisions with ALICE / Ravasenga, Ivan (BITP, Kiev) /ALICE Collaboration
In heavy-ion collisions (A$-$A) at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) energies, a strongly coupled Quark Gluon Plasma (QGP) is produced, giving rise to collective phenomena whose signatures can be retrieved in final state hadronic observables. Recent observations suggest the presence of collective phenomena in small systems like pp collisions. [...]

Topological studies of charged particle production and search for jet quenching effects in small collision systems with ALICE / Tripathy, Sushanta (Mexico U., ICN ; INFN, Bologna) /ALICE Collaboration
Results for high multiplicity pp and p-Pb collisions at the LHC have revealed that these small collision systems exhibit features of collectivity. To understand the origin of these unexpected phenomena, the relative transverse activity classifier ($R_{\rm{T}}$) can be exploited as a tool to disentangle soft and hard particle production, by studying the yield of charged particles in different topological regions associated with transverse momentum trigger particles. Open heavy-flavor measurements with ALICE at the LHC / Bailhache, R (Frankfurt U.) /ALICE
ALICE is well equipped to reconstruct heavy-flavor particles down to low transverse momentum pT at mid and forward rapidity. An overview of the ALICE results obtained with the Run 1 data in pp (√5=2.76TeV and √s=7TeV), Pb-Pb (√Snn=2.76TeV) and p-Pb (√sNN=5.02 TeV) collisions is presented. [...]

Results on open-charm production in pp, p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions with ALICE at the LHC / Meninno, E (Salerno U.) /ALICE
ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) is designed to study the strongly-interacting medium created in heavy-ion collisions at LHC energies, the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP). Charm and beauty quarks are powerful probes to study the QGP in heavy-ion collisions: produced in hard partonic scattering processes on a short time scale, they are expected to traverse the QCD medium, interacting with its constituents and losing energy through radiative and collisional processes. Light flavor results in p-Pb collisions with ALICE / Ortiz, Antonio (Mexico U., ICN) /for the ALICE Collaboration
Particle ratios provide insight into the hadrochemistry of the event and the mechanisms for particle production. In Pb-Pb collisions the relative multi-strange baryon yields exhibit an enhancement with respect to pp collisions, whereas the short-lived K$^{*0}$ resonance is suppressed in the most central events due to re-scattering of its decay daughter particles.
