A setup for the investigation of Coherent Diffraction Radiation (CDR) from a conducting screen as a tool for noninvasive longitudinal electron beam profile diagnostics has been designed and installed in the Combiner Ring Measurement (CRM) line of the CLIC Test Facility (CTF3, CERN). In this report the status of the monitor development and results on the interferometric measurements of CDR spectra are presented [...]

We report on the study of shadowing of electromagnetic fields radiated in the Terahertz (THz) region from two consecutive sources of coherent diffraction and transition radiation. In these conditions, the formation length is predicted to be $\leq$ 100 m, and shadowing effects should result in an almost complete suppression of radiated fields within distances of the order of tens of centimeters. Recent results using incoherent Cherenkov Diffraction Radiation for non-invasive beam diagnostics

When a relativistic charged particle travels at a short distance from the surface of dielectric material Cherenkov Diffraction Radiation (ChDR) is produced inside the dielectric. Recent observation of incoherent ChDR in the visible spectrum has opened the possibility of using this radiation for non-invasive beam size and position measurements. [...]

We present the observation and the detailed investigation of coherent Cherenkov diffraction radiation (CChDR) in terms of spectral-angular characteristics. Electromagnetic simulations have been performed to optimize the design of a prismatic dielectric radiator and the performance of a detection system with the aim of providing longitudinal beam diagnostics. The Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) is an e+/e- collider based on the two-beam acceleration principle, proposed to support precision high-energy physics experiments in the energy range 0.5-3 TeV [1]. To achieve a high luminosity of up to 6x1034cm-2s-1, the transport and preservation of a low emittance beam is mandatory. [...]
