Quantification of Neutron-Induced Single-Event Upsets in a Static Random-Access Memory by Clinical High-Energy Photon Beam / Gabrisch, Lukas (Oldenburg U.) ; Cecchetto, Matteo (CERN) ; Delfs, Björn (Oldenburg U.) ; Looe, Hui Khee (Oldenburg U.) ; Budroweit, Jan (DLR, Bremen) ; Alía, Rubén García (CERN) ; Poppe, Björn (Oldenburg U.) ; Wyrwoll, Vanessa (Oldenburg U.)
The possibility of using calibrated static random-access memory (SRAM) memory for the quantification of neutron fluence in a radiotherapy facility for cancer treatment utilizing a high-energy 15-MV photon beam (Bremsstrahlung) from an electron linear accelerator has been exploited in this work. This has been performed by varying the field size of the photon beam and the positioning of the SRAM memory at three different positions in relation to the isocenter of the beam. [...]

Impact of neutrons on the RadFET dose response when exposed to mixed-fields / Marzo, M (CERN) ; Alia, R G (CERN) ; Infantino, A (CERN) ; Brucoli, M (CERN) ; Danzeca, S (CERN)
The Radiation MONitoring (RadMON) system is widely employed at CERN to measure the radiation levels in the accelerators, as well as the degradation of electronics located in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) tunnel and shielded areas. Radiation Field Effect Transistors (RadFETs) integrated in the RadMON specifically measure the Total Ionizing Dose (TID) in the accelerators complex and are affected in turn by the CERN radiation field. The CERN High energy AcceleRator Mixed-field test facility (CHARM) has been built with the intention of reproducing different mixed-fields (atmospheric, space, accelerators, ground,…), to test electronics when exposed to specific radiation environments. Exploring Radiation-Induced Vulnerabilities in RFICs Through Traditional RF Metrics / Scialdone, Antonio (CERN ; LIRMM, Montpellier ; Montpellier U. ; CNRS, France) ; Ferraro, Rudy (cern) ; Dilillo, Luigi (LIRMM, Montpellier ; Montpellier U. ; CNRS, France) ; Saigne, Frederic (Montpellier U. ; CNRS, France) ; Boch, Jérôme (CNRS, France ; Montpellier U.) ; Masi, Alessandro (CERN) ; Danzeca, Salvatore (CERN)
This article describes how to analyze radiation-induced effects using traditional radio-frequency (RF) metrics in RF integrated circuits (RFICs) to be used in the implementation of software-defined radios (SDRs). The impacts of total ionizing dose (TID) and single-event effects (SEEs) on the device characteristics are shown and their consequences for an SDR are discussed. [...]
