The neutron-deficient $^{115}$Cs was produced at ISOLDE, CERN by spallation reaction using 1.4 GeV proton on LaC2 target. The exotic decay modes were studied by using a charged particle array (DSSD and pad detectors) and a γ-detector array (four Clovers) at the ISOLDE decay station (IDS). [...]

Six cylindrical lead bismuth eutectic (LBE) targets having fixed diameter of 6 mm and varying lengths of 8–50 mm were irradiated with a 1.4 GeV proton beam at CERN-ISOLDE. Both short-lived ($5\hbox { h } {<}\hbox {T}_{1/2} {<}5\hbox { days}$) and long-lived ($\hbox {T}_{1/2} {>}5\hbox { days}$) radionuclides were identified by off-line $\gamma $-spectrometry and their activities at the end of bombardment (EOB) were determined. ALICE is a high-energy physics experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Geneva, to study the properties of quark-gluon plasma, formed in heavy-ion collisions. In the upgrade program, a new electromagnetic forward calorimeter (FOCAL) based on silicon and tungsten (Si$+$W) sampling configuration, has been proposed to address new physics objectives of ALICE experiment. Dielectron production at midrapidity at low transverse momentum in peripheral and semi-peripheral Pb–Pb collisions at $ {\sqrt{s}}_{\textrm{NN}} $ = 5.02 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
The first measurement of the ${\rm e}^{+}{\rm e}^{-}$ pair production at low lepton pair transverse momentum ($p_{\rm T,ee}$) and low invariant mass ($m_{\rm ee}$) in non-central Pb$-$Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02$ TeV at the LHC is presented. The dielectron production is studied with the ALICE detector at midrapidity ($|\eta_{\rm e}| < 0.8$) as a function of invariant mass ($0.4 \leq m_{\rm ee} < 2.7$ GeV/$c^2$) in the 50$-$70% and 70$-$90% centrality classes for $p_{\rm T,ee} < 0.1$ GeV/$c$, and as a function of $p_{\rm T,ee}$ in three $m_{\rm ee}$ intervals in the most peripheral Pb$-$Pb collisions. Underlying-event properties in pp and p–Pb collisions at $ \sqrt{s_{\textrm{NN}}} $ = 5.02 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
We report about the properties of the underlying event measured with ALICE at the LHC in pp and p$-$Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}=5.02$ TeV. The event activity, quantified by charged-particle number and summed-$p_{\rm T}$ densities, is measured as a function of the leading-particle transverse momentum ($p_{\rm T}^{\rm trig}$). [...]

Threshold resummation in rapidity for colorless particle production at LHC / Banerjee, Pulak (IMSc, Chennai ; HBNI, Mumbai) ; Das, Goutam (DESY) ; Dhani, Prasanna K. (HBNI, Mumbai ; IMSc, Chennai) ; Ravindran, V. (HBNI, Mumbai ; IMSc, Chennai)
We present a formalism to resum large threshold logarithms to all orders in perturbative QCD for the rapidity distribution of any colorless particle at the hadron colliders. Using the derived resummed coefficients in two dimensional Mellin space, we present the rapidity distributions for the Higgs as well as for the Drell-Yan production to NNLO+NNLL accuracy at the LHC. A wide dynamic range (ratio of maximum detectable signal to noise floor) front end electronics (FEE) readout ASIC ANUINDRA has been developed in 0.35μm standard N-well CMOS technology for the prototype forward calorimeter (FOCAL), a silicon–tungsten (Si–W) electromagnetic (EM) calorimeter, proposed as part of the ALICE upgrade at CERN. It is a 16 channel pulse processing ASIC with a multiplexed serial output along with all the individual channel’s responses available as output pins. [...]
