First on-line application of the high-resolution spectroscopy laser ion source PI-LIST at ISOLDE
/ Heinke, Reinhard (CERN) ; Au, Mia (CERN ; Mainz U.) ; Bernerd, Cyril (CERN ; Leuven U.) ; Chrysalidis, Katerina (CERN) ; Cocolios, Thomas E (Leuven U.) ; Fedosseev, Valentin N (CERN) ; Hendriks, Isabel (CERN ; Lund U. We report on the development, characterization, and first application of a specialized resonance ionization laser ion source for high-resolution spectroscopy applications below usual hot cavity Doppler broadening limitations, for on-line experiments at CERN-ISOLDE. The new PI-LIST ion source comprises perpendicular laser/atom beam interaction in a radio-frequency quadrupole unit directly downstream the hot atomizer cavity. [...]

We report on high-resolution laser spectroscopy studies on Cf249–253 with spectral linewidths in the order of 100 MHz carried out at the RISIKO mass separator at Mainz University. In total three atomic ground-state transitions were investigated and the hyperfine parameters for the odd-A isotopes and isotope shift for all examined isotopes have been determined from the measured spectra. Euclidean time windows in the integral representation of the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon $g-2$ serve to test the consistency of lattice calculations and may help in tracing the origins of a potential tension between lattice and data-driven evaluations. In this paper, we present results for the intermediate time window observable computed using O($a$) improved Wilson fermions at six values of the lattice spacings below 0.1 fm and pion masses down to the physical value. Precision test of many-body QED in the Be$^{+} 2p$ fine structure doublet using short-lived isotopes
/ IS449 collaboration
Absolute transition frequencies of the $2s\; ^2{\rm S}_{1/2} \rightarrow 2p\;^2\mathrm{P}_{1/2,3/2}$ transitions in Be$^+$ were measured for the isotopes $^{7,9-12}$Be. The fine structure splitting of the $2p$ state and its isotope dependence are extracted and compared to results of \textit{ab initio} calculations using explicitly correlated basis functions, including relativistic and quantum electrodynamics effects at the order of $m \alpha^6$ and $m \alpha^7 \ln \alpha$.
