The nuclear charge radii of $^{7,9,10,11}$Be have been determined by high-precision laser spectroscopy. On-line measurements were performed at ISOLDE with collinear laser spectroscopy in the $2s_{1/2} \to 2p_{1/2}$ transition of Be$^{+}$. [...]

(Darmstadt, GSI) et al.
The nuclear charge radius of $^{12}$Be was precisely determined using the technique of collinear laser spectroscopy on the $2s_{1/2}\rightarrow 2p_{1/2, 3/2}$ transition in the Be$^{+}$ ion. The mean square charge radius increases from $^{10}$Be to $^{12}$Be by $\delta <r_{\rm c}^2>^{10,12} = 0.69(5)$ fm$^{2}$ compared to $\delta <r_{\rm c}^2>^{10,11} = 0.49(5)$ fm$^{2}$ for the one-neutron halo isotope $^{11}$Be. We have performed isotope shift measurements in the 2s(1/2) -> 2p(3/2) transition of Be+ ions using advanced collinear laser spectroscopy with two counter-propagating laser beams. Measurements involving a frequency comb for laser stabilization and absolute frequency determination allowed us to determine the isotope shifts with an accuracy of 2 MHz. [...]

Laser-spectroscopy studies of the nuclear structure of neutron-rich radium
/ Lynch, K M (CERN) ; Wilkins, S G (Manchester U.) ; Billowes, J (Manchester U.) ; Binnersley, C L (Manchester U.) ; Bissell, M L (Manchester U.) ; Chrysalidis, K (CERN) ; Cocolios, T E (Leuven U.) ; Day Goodacre, T (Manchester U. ; CERN) ; de Groote, R P (Leuven U.) ; Farooq-Smith, G J (Leuven U.) et al.
The neutron-rich radium isotopes, Ra222−233, were measured with Collinear Resonance Ionization Spectroscopy (CRIS) at the ISOLDE facility, CERN. The hyperfine structure of the 7s2S01→7s7pP13 transition was probed, allowing measurement of the magnetic moments, quadrupole moments, and changes in mean-square charge radii. [...]

Nuclear moments and charge radii of argon isotopes between the neutron-shell closures N = 20 and N = 28
/ Blaum, K (Mainz U., Inst. Phys. ; CERN) ; Geithner, W (Mainz U., Inst. Phys.) ; Lassen, J (Mainz U., Inst. Phys. ; TRIUMF) ; Lievens, P (Leuven U.) ; Marinova, K (LHEP JINR, Dubna) ; Neugart, R (Mainz U., Inst. Phys.)
We report the measurement of optical isotope shifts for 40–44 Ar relative to 38 Ar from which changes in the mean square nuclear charge radii across the 1 f 7 / 2 neutron shell are deduced. In addition, the hyperfine structure of 41 Ar and 43 Ar yields the spins, magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole moments, in particular the spin I = 5 / 2 for 43 Ar. [...]

Measurement of the magnetic moments of $^{7}$Be and of the halo nucleus $^{11}$Be
/ Kappertz, S ; Geithner, W ; Katko, G ; Keim, M ; Kotrotsios, G ; Lievens, P ; Neugart, R ; Vermeeren, L ; Wilbert, S
Recently the CERN/ISOLDE laser ion source was optimized to provide intense beryllium ion beams. This allowed us to perform optical spectroscopy on $^{7,9,10}$Be yielding the unknown magnetic moment of $^{7}$Be and the isotope shifts in the lithium-like spectrum of Be$^{+}$. [...]

Nuclear charge radii of $^{62−80}$Zn and their dependence on cross-shell proton excitations
/ Xie, L (Manchester U.) ; Yang, X F (Peking U., SKLNPT ; Leuven U.) ; Wraith, C (Liverpool U.) ; Babcock, C (Liverpool U.) ; Bieroń, J (Jagiellonian U.) ; Billowes, J (Manchester U.) ; Bissell, M L (Manchester U. ; Leuven U.) ; Blaum, K (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Cheal, B (Liverpool U.) ; Filippin, L (U. Brussels (main)) et al.
Nuclear charge radii of $^{62−80}$Zn have been determined using collinear laser spectroscopy of bunched ion beams at CERN-ISOLDE. The subtle variations of observed charge radii, both within one isotope and along the full range of neutron numbers, are found to be well described in terms of the proton excitations across the $Z=28$ shell gap, as predicted by large-scale shell model calculations.
