Emittance growth studies due to Crab Cavity induced amplitude noise in the SPS / Fornara, Andrea (Manchester U. ; CERN) ; Trad, Georges (CERN) ; Sterbini, Guido (CERN) ; Bartosik, Hannes (CERN) ; Triantafyllou, Natalia (CERN) ; Baudrenghien, Philippe (CERN) ; Calaga, Rama (CERN) ; Appleby, Robert (Manchester U.) ; Kostoglou, Sofia (CERN) ; Levens, Thomas (CERN) et al.
In the context of the HL-LHC upgrade, RF Crab Cavities (CCs) are one of the key components to achieve the target integrated luminosity. Due to the increased bunch intensity, the collider will operate with a large crossing angle scheme to alleviate the long-range beam-beam effect. [...]

Impact of Crab Cavity RF noise on the transverse beam profiles in the HL-LHC / Fornara, A (U. Manchester (main)) ; Appleby, R (U. Manchester (main)) ; Sterbini, G (CERN)
Crab Cavities (CCs) are a key component for the HL-LHC luminosity upgrade. To significantly reduce the Long-Range Beam-Beam (LRBB) effects a large crossing angle scheme is needed . [...]

Suppression of Crab Cavity Noise Induced Emittance Growth by Transverse Beam Coupling Impedance / Triantafyllou, Natalia (Liverpool U. ; CERN) ; Antoniou, Fanouria (CERN) ; Bartosik, Hannes (CERN) ; Baudrenghien, Philippe (CERN) ; Buffat, Xavier (CERN) ; Calaga, Rama (CERN) ; Mastoridis, Themis (Cal. Poly.) ; Papaphilippou, Yannis (CERN) ; Wolski, Andrzej (Liverpool U.)
Crab cavities are a key component of the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) upgrade, as they aim to mitigate the luminosity reduction induced by the crossing angle. Two superconducting crab cavities (CCs) were installed in the Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) at CERN in 2018 to demonstrate their operation in a proton machine for the first time. [...]

Studies of the emittance growth due to noise in the Crab Cavity RF systems / Triantafyllou, Natalia
The High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) is the upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) machine which aims to increase significantly the luminosity at the experiments in order to extend the potential for physics discoveries [...]

Transverse emittance growth due to rf noise in crab cavities: Theory, measurements, cure, and high luminosity LHC estimates / Baudrenghien, P (CERN) ; Mastoridis, T (Cal. Poly.)
The High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) upgrade with planned operation from 2029 onward has a goal of achieving a tenfold increase in the integrated number of recorded collisions thanks to a doubling of the intensity per bunch (2.2×1011 protons) and a reduction of β* (the β value in the two high luminosity detectors, namely ATLAS and CMS) to 15 cm. Such an increase in recorded collisions would significantly expedite new discoveries and exploration. [...]

Investigation of Damping Effects of the Crab Cavity Noise Induced Emittance Growth / Triantafyllou, Natalia (Liverpool U. ; CERN) ; Antoniou, Fanouria (CERN) ; Bartosik, Hannes (CERN) ; Baudrenghien, Philippe (CERN) ; Buffat, Xavier (CERN) ; Calaga, Rama (CERN) ; Carver, Lee R (Liverpool U. ; ESRF, Grenoble) ; Mastoridis, Themis (Cal. Poly.) ; Papaphilippou, Yannis (CERN) ; Wolski, Andrzej (Liverpool U.)
Crab cavities will be installed at the two main interaction points (IP1 and IP5) of the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) in order to minimize the geometric reduction of the luminosity due to the crossing angle. Two prototype crab cavities have been installed into the SPS machine and were tested with a proton beam in 2018, to study the expected emittance growth induced by RF noise. [...]
