SuperKEKB has recently achieved the world record instantaneous luminosity of 2.8 × 10³⁴ \si{cm⁻²s⁻¹} and aims at reaching a target luminosity of about 6 × 10³⁵ \si{cm⁻²s⁻¹}. To accomplish this goal it is planned to increase beam currents up to §I{3.6}{A} and §I{2.6}{A} for the positron and the electron ring, respectively. [...]

SuperKEKB, an asymmetric electron-positron collider, has recently achieved the world record instantaneous luminosity of 2.8 × 10³⁴ \si{cm⁻²s⁻¹} using crab-waist collision scheme. In order to reach the design value of 6×10³⁵ \si{cm⁻²s⁻¹} a vertical beta function at the interaction point of §I{0.3}{mm} is required, demanding unprecedented optics control. [...]

Momentum bandwidth of the KEK Accelerator Test Facility 2 / Yang, R (CERN) ; Pastushenko, A (CERN ; IJCLab, Orsay) ; Cilento, V (CERN ; IJCLab, Orsay) ; Kubo, K (KEK, Tsukuba ; Sokendai, Tsukuba) ; Naito, T (KEK, Tsukuba ; Sokendai, Tsukuba) ; Okugi, T (KEK, Tsukuba ; Sokendai, Tsukuba) ; Terunuma, N (KEK, Tsukuba ; Sokendai, Tsukuba) ; Tomás, R (CERN)
Momentum bandwidth is an important characteristic for final focus systems (FFS) of future high-energy colliders. A large momentum bandwidth is a notable feature of the novel local-chromaticity-correction FFS, being demonstrated at the KEK Accelerator Test Facility 2 (ATF2), owing to the locality of chromaticity correction. Tuning the ultralow $β^*$ optics at the KEK Accelerator Test Facility 2 / Yang, R (CERN) ; Pastushenko, A (CERN ; Orsay) ; Aryshev, A (KEK, Tsukuba ; Sokendai, Tsukuba) ; Bergamaschi, M (CERN) ; Cilento, V (CERN ; Orsay) ; Faus-Golfe, A (Orsay) ; Fukuda, M (KEK, Tsukuba ; Sokendai, Tsukuba) ; Korysko, P (CERN) ; Kubo, K (KEK, Tsukuba ; Sokendai, Tsukuba) ; Kuroda, S (KEK, Tsukuba ; Sokendai, Tsukuba) et al.
For future linear colliders, a nanometer-scale beam size at the interaction point (IP) is one of the most challenging technical aspects. To explore the feasibility of a final focus system with a high chromaticity level, comparable to that of the Compact Linear Collider, the ultralow β* optics has been proposed and tuned at the KEK Accelerator Test Facility 2. To investigate the mechanisms of beam halo formation and its dynamics, a YAG/OTR monitor has been developed and tested at the KEK-ATF. The monitor has four ceramic Ce:YAG  screens for the visualization of the beam core and beam halo and an OTR target to provide complementary beam core measurements. [...]

Noninvasive Micrometer-Scale Particle-Beam Size Measurement Using Optical Diffraction Radiation in the Ultraviolet Wavelength Range / Bergamaschi, M (CERN ; Royal Holloway, U. of London) ; Aryshev, A (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Karataev, P (Royal Holloway, U. of London) ; Kieffer, R (CERN ; Royal Holloway, U. of London) ; Lefevre, T (CERN) ; Mazzoni, S (CERN) ; Terunuma, N (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Yang, R (LPGP, Orsay)
We present recent achievements in the application of optical diffraction radiation (ODR) to the measurement of the transverse beam size of a 1.3 GeV micrometer-size electron beam performed with an instrument installed in the extended extraction line of the KEK Accelerator Test Facility. ODR is a recent technique for the measurement of the transverse size and emittance of highly relativistic particle beams. [...]
