The Penetrating particle ANalyzer (PAN) instrument for measurements of low energy cosmic rays / Ambrosi, Giovanni (INFN, Perugia) ; Azzarello, Philipp (Geneva U.) ; Bergmann, Benedikt (CTU, Prague) ; Bertucci, Bruna (INFN, Perugia) ; Cadoux, Franck (Geneva U.) ; Duranti, Matteo (INFN, Perugia) ; Ionica, Maria (INFN, Perugia) ; Kole, Merlin (Geneva U.) ; Paniccia, Mercedes (Geneva U.) ; Plainaki, Christina (CERN) et al.
PAN is an instrument designed to precisely measure and monitor the flux, composition, and direction of highly penetrating particles (>100MeV/nucleon) in deep space and interplanetary missions with an energy resolution better than 10% for nuclei from H to Fe at 1GeV/n. The detector, limited to about 20kg in mass and 20W in power consumption, is based on the well-known magnetic spectrometer detection principle, and exploits the advantages provided by the integration of ultra-thin microstrip silicon detectors, hybrid silicon pixel detectors and silicon photomultipliers. Topological cell clustering in the ATLAS calorimeters and its performance in LHC Run 1 / ATLAS Collaboration
The reconstruction of the signal from hadrons and jets emerging from the proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and entering the ATLAS calorimeters is based on a three-dimensional topological clustering of individual calorimeter cell signals. The cluster formation follows cell signal-significance patterns generated by electromagnetic and hadronic showers. [...]

Identification of high transverse momentum top quarks in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
This paper presents studies of the performance of several jet-substructure techniques, which are used to identify hadronically decaying top quarks with high transverse momentum contained in large-radius jets. The efficiency of identifying top quarks is measured using a sample of top-quark pairs and the rate of wrongly identifying jets from other quarks or gluons as top quarks is measured using multijet events collected with the ATLAS experiment in 20.3 fb$^{-1}$ of 8 TeV proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider. Measurement of total and differential $W^+W^-$ production cross sections in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 8 TeV with the ATLAS detector and limits on anomalous triple-gauge-boson couplings / ATLAS Collaboration
The production of $W$ boson pairs in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 8 TeV is studied using data corresponding to 20.3 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity collected by the ATLAS detector during 2012 at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The $W$ bosons are reconstructed using their leptonic decays into electrons or muons and neutrinos. [...]

Probing lepton flavour violation via neutrinoless $\tau\longrightarrow 3\mu$ decays with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
This article presents the sensitivity of the ATLAS experiment to the lepton-flavour-violating decays of $\tau\to 3\mu$. A method utilising the production of $\tau$ leptons via $W\to\tau\nu$ decays is used. [...]

Measurement of the CP-violating phase $\phi_s$ and the $B^0_s$ meson decay width difference with $B^0_s \to J/\psi\phi$ decays in ATLAS / ATLAS Collaboration
A measurement of the $B^0_s$ decay parameters in the $B^0_s \to J/\psi\phi$ channel using an integrated luminosity of 14.3 fb$^{-1}$ collected by the ATLAS detector from 8 TeV $pp$ collisions at the LHC is presented. The measured parameters include the $CP$-violating phase $\phi_s$, the decay width $\Gamma_s$ and the width difference between the mass eigenstates $\Delta\Gamma_s$. [...]

Reconstruction of hadronic decay products of tau leptons with the ATLAS experiment / ATLAS Collaboration
This paper presents a new method of reconstructing the individual charged and neutral hadrons in tau decays with the ATLAS detector. The reconstructed hadrons are used to classify the decay mode and to calculate the visible four-momentum of reconstructed tau candidates, significantly improving the resolution with respect to the calibration in the existing tau reconstruction. Combination of searches for $WW$, $WZ$, and $ZZ$ resonances in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
The ATLAS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider has performed searches for new, heavy bosons decaying to $WW$, $WZ$ and $ZZ$ final states in multiple decay channels using 20.3 fb^{-1} of $pp$ collision data at $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV. In the current study, the results of these searches are combined to provide a more stringent test of models predicting heavy resonances with couplings to vector bosons. [...]

Search for charged Higgs bosons in the $H^{\pm} \rightarrow tb$ decay channel in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV using the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
Charged Higgs bosons heavier than the top quark and decaying via $H^{\pm} \rightarrow tb$ are searched for in proton--proton collisions measured with the ATLAS experiment at $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.3 fb$^{-1}$. The production of a charged Higgs boson in association with a top quark, $gb \rightarrow tH^{\pm}$, is explored in the mass range 200 to 600 GeV using multi-jet final states with one electron or muon.
