Precision studies of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix offer a very important testbed of the Standard Model (SM).In light of new inputs and measurements, in this proceeding we review the status of the Unitarity Triangle as a fundamental tool to uncover New Physics. We report the results of the latest SM global fits performed by the UTfit Collaboration including all the up-to-date experimental and theoretical inputs as for the Summer 2023 release.We also update the stringent constraints on New Physics from the generalized $|\Delta F| = 2$ effective Hamiltonian. Experimental results on deflection of a 180 GeV/c $\pi^+$-meson beam by a 23 mm long bent silicon crystal are analyzed to study the dechanneling process of particles due to multiple scattering. Feasibility of crystal-assisted collimation in the CERN accelerator complex / UA9 Collaboration
Bent silicon crystals mounted on high-accuracy angular actuators were installed in the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) and extensively tested to assess the feasibility of crystal-assisted collimation in circular hadron colliders. In this paper we discuss the possibility of measuring the anomalous magnetic and electric dipole moments of the $\tau$ lepton.
