A continuous-wave superconducting linear accelerator scheme for the drive beam acceleration of the Compact Linear Collider / Liu, Jiayang (Tsinghua U., Beijing, Dept. Eng. Phys. ; Tsinghua U., Beijing, KLPRI ; CERN) ; Grudiev, Alexej (CERN) ; Zha, Hao (Tsinghua U., Beijing, Dept. Eng. Phys. ; Tsinghua U., Beijing, KLPRI ; CERN) ; Shi, Jiaru (Tsinghua U., Beijing, Dept. Eng. Phys. ; Tsinghua U., Beijing, KLPRI) ; Chen, Huaibi (Tsinghua U., Beijing, Dept. Eng. Phys. ; Tsinghua U., Beijing, KLPRI)
The Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) utilizes two 2.5-km-long normal-conducting linear accelerators (LINACs) to produce a drive beam with 140μs pulse length at a repetition rate of 50 Hz. This setup is relatively expensive in the early stages due to both the length of the drive beam LINACs and the amount of the power sources for one drive beam complex are the same in all energy stages. Tolerance study of travelling-wave accelerating structure for the main linac of the klystron-based first stage of Compact Linear Collider / Liu, Jiayang (Tsinghua U., Beijing ; Tsinghua U., Beijing ; CERN) ; Shi, Jiaru (Tsinghua U., Beijing ; Tsinghua U., Beijing) ; Grudiev, Alexej (CERN) ; Zha, Hao (Tsinghua U., Beijing ; Tsinghua U., Beijing) ; Chen, Huaibi (Tsinghua U., Beijing ; Tsinghua U., Beijing)
This work aims to analyse the tolerances given by two effects on the performance of the travelling-wave accelerating structure: the reflection along the structure and the change in the nominal accelerating voltage, which is essential for the projects with a large number of accelerating structures. The detuning and dephasing caused by systematic temperature shifts, systematic geometric errors and random geometric errors has been investigated in this paper. [...]

Analysis and simulation of the "after-pulse" RF breakdown / Lin, Xiancai (Tsinghua U., Beijing, Dept. Eng. Phys. ; Tsinghua U., Beijing, KLPRI) ; Chen, Huaibi (Tsinghua U., Beijing, Dept. Eng. Phys. ; Tsinghua U., Beijing, KLPRI) ; Liu, Zening (Tsinghua U., Beijing, Dept. Eng. Phys. ; Tsinghua U., Beijing, KLPRI) ; Shi, Jiaru (Tsinghua U., Beijing, Dept. Eng. Phys. ; Tsinghua U., Beijing, KLPRI) ; Wu, Xiaowei (CERN) ; Zha, Hao (Tsinghua U., Beijing, Dept. Eng. Phys. ; Tsinghua U., Beijing, KLPRI)
During the high power experiment of a single-cell standing-wave accelerating structure, it was observed that many RF breakdowns happen when the field inside cavity is decaying after the input rf pulse is off. The distribution of breakdown timing shows a peak at the moment of RF power switches off. [...]

Wakefield suppression in the main linac of the klystron-based first stage of CLIC at 380 GeV / Liu, Jiayang (Tsinghua U., Beijing, Dept. Eng. Phys. ; Tsinghua U., Beijing, KLPRI) ; Chen, Huaibi (Tsinghua U., Beijing, Dept. Eng. Phys. ; Tsinghua U., Beijing, KLPRI) ; Grudiev, Alexej (CERN) ; Shi, Jiaru (Tsinghua U., Beijing, Dept. Eng. Phys. ; Tsinghua U., Beijing, KLPRI) ; Zha, Hao (Tsinghua U., Beijing, Dept. Eng. Phys. ; Tsinghua U., Beijing, KLPRI)
An alternative klystron-based scenario for the first stage of Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) at 380 GeV centre-of-mass energy was proposed. To preserve the beam stability and luminosity of CLIC, the beam-induced transverse long-range wakefield in main linac must be suppressed to an acceptable value. [...]

A compact X-band correction cavity chain (CC) has been successfully designed, fabricated and high power tested for the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) project. The CC consists of eight spherical cavities and four polarizers, and each spherical cavity has a $Q_0$ of 45 000 and a diameter of 7 cm. [...]

A proposed RF scheme based on correction cavity chain and storage cavity (CC-SC scheme) for klystron-based CLIC has the ability to generate flat output pulses. In the scheme, the correction cavity chain modulates the amplitude of the input pulse, while the storage cavity compresses the amplitude-modulated pulse. [...]

A Compact Linear Collider prototype traveling-wave accelerator structure fabricated at Tsinghua University was recently high-gradient tested at the High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK). This X-band structure showed good high-gradient performance of up to 100  MV/m and obtained a breakdown rate of $1.27×10^{−8}$ per pulse per meter at a pulse length of 250 ns. [...]

Beam-induced wakefield observation in X -band choke-mode cavities / Zha, Hao (Tsinghua U., Beijing ; Argonne, HEP ; CERN) ; Jing, Chunguang (Argonne, HEP ; Euclid Techlabs, Solon) ; Qiu, Jiaqi (Argonne, HEP ; Euclid Techlabs, Solon) ; Wisniewski, Eric E (Argonne, HEP) ; Conde, Manoel (Argonne, HEP) ; Power, John G (Argonne, HEP) ; Doran, Darrell S (Argonne, HEP) ; Liu, Wanming (Argonne, HEP) ; Shi, Jiaru (Tsinghua U., Beijing ; CERN) ; Li, Chen (Tsinghua U., Beijing ; Argonne, HEP) et al.
The X-band choke-mode structure is currently being studied as an alternative design for the accelerating structure of the compact linear collider (CLIC) main linac. The geometry of the choke-mode structure is designed to ensure the strong suppression of the beam-induced long-range transverse wakefield and therefore maintain the stability and quality of the beam in the CLIC main linac.
