ALICE upgrades during the LHC Long Shutdown 2 / ALICE Collaboration
A Large Ion Collider Experiment (ALICE) has been conceived and constructed as a heavy-ion experiment at the LHC. During LHC Runs 1 and 2, it has produced a wide range of physics results using all collision systems available at the LHC. [...]

Systematic investigation of critical charge limits in Thick GEMs / Gasik, P. (Darmstadt, GSI ; FAIR, Darmstadt) ; Lautner, L. (CERN ; Munich, Tech. U.) ; Fabbietti, L. (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Fribert, H. (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Klemenz, T. (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Mathis, A. (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Ulukutlu, B. (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Waldmann, T. (Munich, Tech. U.)
We present discharge probability studies performed with a single Thick Gas Electron Multiplier (THGEM) irradiated with alpha particles in Ar-CO$_2$ and Ne-CO$_2$ mixtures. We observe a clear dependency of the discharge stability on the noble gas and quencher content pointing to lighter gases being more stable against the development of streamer discharges. [...]

Measurement of (anti)nuclei production in p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 8.16$ TeV / ALICE Collaboration
Measurements of (anti)proton, (anti)deuteron, and (anti)$^3$He production in the rapidity range $-1<y< 0$ as a function of the transverse momentum and event multiplicity in p-Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon-nucleon pair $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 8.16$ TeV are presented. The coalescence parameters $B_2$ and $B_3$, measured as a function of the transverse momentum per nucleon and of the mean charged-particle multiplicity density, confirm a smooth evolution from low to high multiplicity across different collision systems and energies. [...]

Measurement of electrons from beauty-hadron decays in pp and Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
The production of electrons from beauty-hadron decays was measured at midrapidity in proton-proton (pp) and central Pb-Pb collisions at center-of-mass energy per nucleon-nucleon pair $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV, using the ALICE detector at the LHC. The cross section measured in pp collisions in the transverse momentum interval $2 < p_{\rm T} < 8$ GeV/$c$ was compared with models based on perturbative quantum chromodynamics calculations. [...]

$\psi(2S)$ suppression in Pb–Pb collisions at the LHC / ALICE Collaboration
The production of the $\psi(2S)$ charmonium state was measured with ALICE in Pb–Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}=5.02$ TeV, in the dimuon decay channel. A significant signal was observed for the first time at LHC energies down to zero transverse momentum, at forward rapidity ($2.5<y<4$). [...]

Measurements of azimuthal anisotropies at forward and backward rapidity with muons in high-multiplicity p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 8.16$ TeV / ALICE Collaboration
The study of the azimuthal anisotropy of inclusive muons produced in p–Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 8.16$ TeV, using the ALICE detector at the LHC is reported. The measurement of the second-order Fourier coefficient of the particle azimuthal distribution, $v_2$, is performed as a function of transverse momentum $p_{\rm T}$ in the 0–20\% high-multiplicity interval at both forward ($2.03 < y_{\rm cms} < 3.53$) and backward ($-4.46 < y_{\rm cms} < -2.96$) rapidities over a wide $p_{\rm T}$ range, $0.5 < p_{\rm T} < 10$ GeV/$c$, in which a dominant contribution of muons from heavy-flavour hadron decays is expected at $p_{\rm T} > 2$ GeV/$c$. Measurement of the lifetime and $\Lambda$ separation energy of $^{3}_{\Lambda}\mathrm H$ / ALICE Collaboration
The most precise measurements to date of the $^{3}_{\Lambda}\mathrm H$ lifetime $\tau$ and $\Lambda$ separation energy ${\rm B}_{\Lambda}$ are obtained using the data sample of Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=$ 5.02 TeV collected by ALICE at the LHC. The $^{3}_{\Lambda}\mathrm H$ is reconstructed via its charged two-body mesonic decay channel ($^{3}_{\Lambda}\mathrm{H} \rightarrow$ $^3$He + $\pi^-$ and the charge-conjugate process). [...]

Neutron emission in ultraperipheral Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt {s_{NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
In ultraperipheral collisions (UPCs) of relativistic nuclei without overlap of nuclear densities, the two nuclei are excited by the Lorentz-contracted Coulomb fields of their collision partners. In these UPCs, the typical nuclear excitation energy is below a few tens of MeV, and a small number of nucleons are emitted in electromagnetic dissociation (EMD) of primary nuclei, in contrast to complete nuclear fragmentation in hadronic interactions. [...]

The performance of the electromagnetic calorimeter of the ALICE experiment during operation in 2010$-$2018 at the Large Hadron Collider is presented. After a short introduction into the design, readout, and trigger capabilities of the detector, the procedures for data taking, reconstruction, and validation are explained. [...]

Multiplicity dependence of $\Upsilon$ production at forward rapidity in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
The measurement of $\Upsilon$(1S), $\Upsilon$(2S), and $\Upsilon$(3S) yields as a function of the charged-particle multiplicity density ${\rm d}N_{\rm ch}/{\rm d}\eta$, using the ALICE experiment at the LHC, is reported in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV. The $\Upsilon$ meson yields are measured at forward rapidity ($2.5 < y < 4$) in the dimuon decay channel, whereas the charged-particle multiplicity is defined at central rapidity ($|\eta| < 1$).
