The excited states of $N=44$$^{74}$Zn were investigated via $\gamma$-ray spectroscopy following $^{74}$Cu $\beta$ decay. By exploiting $\gamma$-$\gamma$ angular correlation analysis, the $2_2^+$, $3_1^+$, $0_2^+$ and $2_3^+$ states in $^{74}$Zn were firmly established. [...]

(Queen's U., Kingston) ; Svensson, C.E. (Guelph U.) ; Ali, F.A. (Guelph U. ; Sulaimaniya U.) ; Andreoiu, C. (Simon Fraser U., Dept. Chem.) ; Bernier, N. (TRIUMF ; British Columbia U. ; Western Cape U. ; Zululand U.) ; Bhattacharjee, S.S. (TRIUMF) ; Bildstein, V. (Guelph U.) et al.
The half-life of the superallowed Fermi $\beta^+$ emitter $^{14}$O was determined to high precision via a direct $\beta$ counting experiment performed at the Isotope Separator and Accelerator (ISAC) facility at TRIUMF. The result, $T_{1/2}$($^{14}$O) = 70619.2(76) ms, is consistent with, but is more precise than, the world average obtained from 11 previous measurements. [...]

Branching ratio of the super-allowed $\beta$ decay of $^{10}$C / Blank, B. (CENBG, Gradignan) ; Aouadi, M. (CENBG, Gradignan) ; Ascher, P. (CENBG, Gradignan) ; Gerbaux, M. (Guelph U.) et al.
In an experiment performed at the ISOLDE facility of CERN, the super-allowed beta-decay branching ratio of 10C was determined with a high-precision single-crystal germanium detector. In order to evaluate the contribution of the pile-up of two 511 keV gamma quanta to one of the gamma-ray peaks of interest at 1021.7 keV, data were not only taken with 10C, but also with a 19Ne beam. Metal-core pad-plane development for ACTAR TPC / Giovinazzo, J (CENBG, Gradignan) ; Pibernat, J (CENBG, Gradignan) ; Goigoux, T (CENBG, Gradignan) ; de Oliveira, R (CERN) ; Grinyer, G F (Regina U. ; GANIL) ; Huss, C (CENBG, Gradignan) ; Mauss, B (GANIL) ; Pancin, J (GANIL) ; Pedroza, J L (CENBG, Gradignan) ; Rebii, A (CENBG, Gradignan) et al.
With the recent development of active targets and time projection chambers (ACTAR TPC) as detectors for fundamental nuclear physics experiments, the need arose for charge collection planes with a high density of readout channels. In order to fulfill the mechanical constraints for the ACTAR TPC device, we designed a pad-plane based on a metal-core circuit with an conceptually simple design and routing for signal readout, named FAKIR (in reference to a fakir bed of nails). A new FEBIAD-type ion source for the upgrade of SPIRAL1 at GANIL / Chauveau, P (GANIL) ; Delahaye, P (GANIL) ; Babo, M (GANIL) ; Bouzomita, H (GANIL) ; Bajeat, O (GANIL) ; Dubois, M (GANIL) ; Frigot, R (GANIL) ; Grinyer, G F (GANIL) ; Grinyer, J (GANIL) ; Jardin, P (GANIL) et al.
The SPIRAL facility at GANIL is being upgraded with a new FEBIAD ion source in order to extend its production capabilities to condensable elements. The coupling of such an ion source with the present GANIL target was recently tested online at SPIRAL at nominal power (1200 W). [...]

High-precision half-life measurements of the T=1/2 mirror β decays F17 and Cl33 / Grinyer, J (GANIL) ; Grinyer, G F (GANIL) ; Babo, M (GANIL) ; Bouzomita, H (GANIL) ; Chauveau, P (GANIL) ; Delahaye, P (GANIL) ; Dubois, M (GANIL) ; Frigot, R (GANIL) ; Jardin, P (GANIL) ; Leboucher, C (GANIL) et al.
Background: Measurements of the ft values for T=1/2 mirror β+ decays offer a method to test the conserved vector current hypothesis and to determine Vud, the up-down matrix element of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix. In most mirror decays used for these tests, uncertainties in the ft values are dominated by the uncertainties in the half-lives. [...]

High-precision half-life measurement for the isospin T=1/2 mirror β+ decay of $^{21}$Na / Grinyer, J (GANIL) ; Grinyer, G F (GANIL) ; Babo, M (GANIL) ; Bouzomita, H (GANIL) ; Chauveau, P (GANIL) ; Delahaye, P (GANIL) ; Dubois, M (GANIL) ; Frigot, R (GANIL) ; Jardin, P (GANIL) ; Leboucher, C (GANIL) et al.
The half-life of the isospin T=1/2 mirror β+ decay of Na21 was measured at the GANIL-SPIRAL radioactive ion beam facility to be T1/2=22.422 (10) s, a result that is more than a factor of 5 times more precise than the previous world average, with a resulting ft value that is now two times more precise. The precision of this new result implies that the half-life is no longer the dominant source of uncertainty in the Ft value used in the calculation of Vud from mirror decays to test the conserved vector current hypothesis of the standard model.
