Isomers close to doubly-magic $^{78}_{28}$Ni$_{50}$ provide essential information on the shell evolution and shape coexistence near the ${Z=28}$ and ${N=50}$ double shell closure. We report the excitation energy measurement of the $1/2^{+}$ isomer in $^{79}_{30}$Zn$_{49}$ through independent high-precision mass measurements with the JYFLTRAP double Penning trap and with the ISOLTRAP Multi-Reflection Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer. We report the first high-precision mass measurements of the neutron-rich nuclei $^{74,75}$Ni and the clearly identified ground state of $^{76}$Cu, along with a more precise mass-excess value of $^{78}$Cu, performed with the double Penning trap JYFLTRAP at the Ion Guide Isotope Separator On-Line (IGISOL) facility. These new results lead to a quantitative estimation of the quenching for the $N=50$ neutron shell gap. [...]

A narrow near-threshold proton-emitting resonance (Ex = 11.4 MeV, J$^{\pi}$ = 1/2$^{+}$ and $\Gamma_{p}$ = 4.4 keV) was directly observed in $^{11}$B via proton resonance scattering. This resonance was previously inferred in the $\beta$-delayed proton emission of the neutron halo nucleus $^{11}$Be. [...]
