Active dosimetry for VHEE FLASH radiotherapy using beam profile monitors and charge measurements / Rieker, Vilde F (CERN ; Oslo U.) ; Corsini, Roberto (CERN) ; Stapnes, Steinar (CERN) ; Adli, Erik (Oslo U.) ; Farabolini, Wilfrid (CERN) ; Grilj, Veljko (SUBATECH, Nantes) ; Sjobak, Kyrre N (Oslo U.) ; Wroe, Laurence M (CERN) ; Aksoy, Avni (CERN ; Ankara U.) ; Robertson, Cameron S (Oxford U.) et al.
The discovery of the FLASH effect has revealed a high potential for treating cancer more efficiently by sparing healthy tissue. The surge in related medical research activities over the last couple of years has triggered a demand for technology with the capability of generating and measuring ionizing radiation at ultra-high doserates (UHDR). Towards a PWFA linear collider — opportunities and challenges / Adli, E (Oslo U. ; CERN)
I discuss some key opportunities and challenges of a PWFA collider, and outline some objectives which I consider important to be able to assess the machine performance, assuming that numerous technical challenges can be solved. The highlighted topics are purely the choices of this author. [...]

Witness electron beam injection using an active plasma lens for a proton beam-driven plasma wakefield accelerator / Kim, S.-Y. (UNIST, Ulsan) ; Moon, K. (UNIST, Ulsan) ; Chung, M. (Pohang Accelerator Lab.)
An active plasma lens focuses the beam in both the horizontal and vertical planes simultaneously using a magnetic field generated by a discharge current through the plasma. A beam size of 5--10 $\mu$m can be achieved within a short distance using a focusing gradient on the order of 100 T/m. [...]

Strong focusing gradient in a linear active plasma lens / Sjobak, K.N. (Oslo U. ; CERN) ; Adli, E. (Oslo U.) ; Corsini, R. (CERN) ; Farabolini, W. (CERN) ; Boyle, G. (DESY) ; Lindstrøm, C.A. (DESY) ; Meisel, M. (DESY) ; Osterhoff, J. (DESY) ; Röckemann, J.-H. (DESY) ; Schaper, L. (DESY) et al.
Active plasma lenses are compact devices developed as a promising beam-focusing alternative for charged particle beams, capable of short focal lengths for high-energy beams. We have previously shown that linear magnetic fields with gradients of around 0.3 kT/m can be achieved in argon-filled plasma lenses that preserve beam emittance [C.A. [...]

Modeling and simulation of transverse wakefields in PWFA / Chen, J.B.B. (CERN ; Oslo U.) ; Schulte, D. (CERN) ; Adli, E. (Oslo U.)
A simplified model describing the PWFA (plasma wakefield acceleration) transverse instability in the form of a wake function parameterized only with an effective cavity aperture radius $a$ is benchmarked against PIC-simulations. This wake function implies a $1/a^4$ scaling of the transverse wakefields, which indicates transverse intra-beam wakefields typically several orders of magnitude higher than in conventional acceleration structures. $\gamma\gamma$ Beam-beam Parameter Study for a 3 TeV PWFA Linear Collider / Chen, Jian Bin Ben (CERN ; Oslo U.) ; Schulte, Daniel (CERN) ; Adli, Erik (Oslo U.)
Our beam-beam parameter study using beam-beam simulations and PWFA (particle-driven plasma acceleration) beam parameters indicates that at 3 TeV, for examined electron beam lengths ${2~\mu\mathrm{m}\leq\sigma_z\leq 10~\mu\mathrm{m}}$, the total luminosity, as well as the sharpness of the luminosity spectrum for a $\gamma\gamma$ collider are independent of the beam length of the electron beams used to scatter the photons, given that the hourglass effect is avoided.
