The Pokémon Trading Card Game Card Dex, more commonly abbreviated as Pokémon TCG Card Dex,[1][2] was a free app provided by The Pokémon Company International for iOS and Android. It was released in Sweden on February 4, 2019, and worldwide excluding Japan, South Korea, and Mainland China on February 8, 2019. The app supports English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese.

Its service concluded on September 20, 2023.[3] This occurred just before the release of 151, making Obsidian Flames the final supported expansion. This was done to redirect resources toward Pokémon Trading Card Game Live, with users advised to make digital collections in Live and use the Trading Card Database on Pokémon.com as a reference source.[4]

Blurb

Pokémon Trading Card Game players, rejoice! Pokémon TCG Card Dex is the official app to manage your Pokémon TCG collection. With an ever-expanding world of cards, this will be your one-stop place to browse, manage, and set goals for your collection.

Pokémon TCG Card Dex has tons of helpful key features, including:

  • Browse a growing database of new, current, and legacy expansions to the Pokémon TCG.
  • Search for specific cards by type, name, Hit Points, or other statistics to make building your decks as easy as possible.
  • Scan your cards into the app with our state-of-the-art image recognition feature, and see how far you've come in your collection.
  • Track which cards you've scanned, so you can figure out which cards you still need.

Features

All cards released from Sun & Moon to Team Up, including Black Star Promos from the Sun & Moon Series, could be viewed and marked as owned.[5] Updates added support for older cards from the XY Series and newer cards up until Obsidian Flames.

The cards were sorted by expansion and could be filtered within each of the expansions by various properties, such as Pokémon-GX, Trainer card, etc. There was also a search feature where the user could search for cards by properties such as their type, rarity, HP, etc. A scan feature allowed the user to use the phone or tablet's camera to scan a physical card and mark it as owned within the app.

For promo cards in the Detective Pikachu expansion, the cards could not be viewed or marked as owned until they were scanned. Additionally, scanning these cards unlocked a screenshot of the card's Pokémon from the POKÉMON Detective Pikachu movie trailers, which could then be saved to the user's camera roll.
