1968 Chevrolet Camaro S/G Drag Car

This 1968 Chevrolet Camaro coupe was acquired by the selling dealer on BaT in November 2024 as an in-progress project, and subsequent work involved installing the 565ci big block Chevrolet V8, which had been rebuilt by DG Machine of Auburn, Washington in 2019 with a Dart race block, 355 heads, and intake manifold as well as JE pistons, an ATI Super damper, a Jesel timing belt kit, a Moroso oil pan, and MSD distributor. The car was used in competition before it was disassembled under prior ownership, and it retains S/G (Super Gas) markings on the windshield. Shifting is through a two-speed automatic transmission equipped with a trans brake and a 5,500-stall torque converter. The car is also outfitted with a four-link rear end with a Ford 9″ axle, coilover suspension, disc brakes, Centerline wheels, and tubbed rear wheel wells. The maroon paintwork features ghost flames on the front, and the hood scoop was refinished in black under current ownership. Inside, a roll cage, Kirkey racing seat, and SRP harness are fitted. This Camaro drag car is now offered with a clean Arkansas title.

Bodywork sourced from Glasstek includes front components, the doors, and the trunk lid. The rear wing was fabricated by Steve Gwen, and polycarbonate windows were utilized. The maroon paintwork features ghost flames on the front fenders, and the scoop has been finished in black. Dents were repaired and the headlights, taillights, and turn signals were replaced under current ownership.
