A painting by renowned Indonesian artist Raden Saleh has been discovered in a cellar in France. Titled Perburuan Banteng (Banteng Hunt), the painting is set to be auctioned on Jan. 27.

Count Johannes Van Den Bosch, 1836, by Raden Saleh - Van Den Bosch (1780-1844) was a Dutch Lieutenant General & politician. Born at Herwijnen in the Netherlands, Van Den Bosch arrived in Java in 1797 as a lieutenant, but was quickly promoted to colonel. He departed in 1810, because of differences with Governor-General Daendels. After his return to Holland in November 1813 he agitated for the return of the House of Orange.
