Army, basic training, prepare, what you really need to know

The goal of this article is to prepare you for the basic knowledge you'll need to know to be successful and possibly more readied than the average Army recruit arriving to Basic Combat Training (BCT).

Basic training will teach discipline and basic combat. After Army BCT you attend Advanced Individual Training. Army training, Basic Military Training.

Your MTIs are going to "give you the business" as one instructor put it. They're going to yell at you early and often. I remember when I was going through basic myself I got yelled at at least once a day. It's their job to give you corrections, whether that's in the mechanics of drill or in your attitude. Don't take it personally.

Use this list to prepare as you pack for Basic Training. Be sure to talk with your Recruiter to get an updated list of any additional items you may need to bring.
