Loom Woven Cotton Blend Tapestry

Going to war was the most masculine activity imaginable, and men who failed in battle were thought effeminate, so women who entered the fray broke the predominant pattern in a grand way.

For Got:C's fourth anniversary, the team had the challenge of coming up with a piece of key art that could work with any aspect ratio from 9:19.5 to 19:5. The solution: I designed a tall medieval tapestry at high resolution and with each major element kept on its own layer. That way, it could be incorporated into an illustration for in-game needs and rearranged to accommodate wide banners. I made custom brushes to emulate the woven texture of a tapestry, and it was off to the races.
