Campaign website

Johnson's campaign website stated the following:

Suporting Veterans

A Disabled Army Veteran, Rusty has helped over 800 Veterans get their disability from the Veterans .Administration. Rusty will help keep the Veterans Administration Directors accountable and serving Veterans.

Energy

The US must be energy independent. Shutting down the pipeline was a major mistake. Becoming dependent on other countries for oil has made our gas double in price while putting thousands of Americans out of work.

Sound Economics

The American economy is getting worse. The prices of cars, gas, food, clothing, building materials, etc. are increasing, due to the Federal government's reckless spending of tax payer money. We cannot afford to spend money we do not have.

Abortion

Protecting the Right to Life is essential. Our children are our future,

2nd Amendment

The 2nd Amendment is a must for a free society. Rusty has his lifetime gun permit from the State of Indiana.

Southern Border

Keeping our borders secure should be a top priority for health, safety, and family protection reasons for everyone[3]

Expand all | Collapse all

I am a Disabled Veteran. I was bit in the spine by a coral snake. I had my 29th back surgery 4 years ago.

I was raised in Indiana. And have lived in Indiana most of my life.

My whole adult life has been about People helping People. It doesn't matter the color of your skin, your religion, your sexuality or your disabilities. All that is just noise!

There is a reason why the rear view mirror is smaller than the windshield and the side windows. We have to look at where we are and where we are going in order to make this world better than what it was or what it is.

  • Right to Life: I support the right for life 100%. Except for rape and incest. Life is prescious at all stages.
  • Close the Border: I believe we have to have closed borders in order to have Law and order throughout our country. It isn't fair to the people who came here and had to do it legally.
  • Respectability and honor of your Congressman or woman: I believe we have to return respect and honor back into the Office of the 7th District Congressional Office.

Helping our community to make this a better place. We are only here on Earth for a short time. We have to leave it better than how we found it. We cannot do that if we have hatred and anger in our hearts and our minds against our brothers and sisters because of the color of their skin, their religion, their sexuality or even their disabilities.

Elvis Presley

He treated people wonderfully. Elvis wasn't prejudiced. His faith in God was so powerful!

I follow the Bible.

My political philosophy is the same as the way I lead my life. Te be kind to others. We have to leave this world better than how we found it. We have to stop the hate and the division!

Honor: We have to be honorable people to represent the people in our community. Our resent Congressman has dishonored his oath, his citizenship and commitment to the people in our District.

Integrity: Currently, there is none! The people need to know that I am for them and not the other way around!

Greed: I am not wealthy. Money has never meant that much to me. I promise not to use the office for monetary gain.

Oath of Office: I take my oath very serious! Veterans live and die by the oaths they take.

I served my country with honor, integrity and the ability to communicate well with the public. Good listening skills. People helping People.

To represent the people in their Districts, Period!

Once they stop and move away from that, they start celebrating their own celebrity. There is no place for that!

Hire only qualified people to work for the office. Do not hire family members!

Listen! Listen to the people in your District!

Stop dividing people in the District! Bring them together to help each other. We are so much better together!

To leave this world better than how it is now. People taking care of each other instead of being divided. To bring people together like I have been doing my whole adult life!

I worked on a horse farm for Randy Kellams. I worked there for 4 years.

My disability.

I was bit in the spine by a coral snake. I have had 29 back and chest surgeries. I forget that sometimes and do more than I should.

To know when to slow down.

They make the Laws of the Land. It represents what the country is thinking about policies and laws.

The office is more important than the person who holds that office.

I do not.

I believe that there needs to be new ways of thinking and helping others.

Many old politicians are stuck in their old ways of thinking. They do not want to change their ways of thinking.

It is my belief people from different experiences bring new ideas.

First, we have to clean up all of this hatred that persists from both parties. We have to be more inclusive! No one should be left out or left alone. God is the Almighty judge, not me and not you!

Become energy independent.

Redo the Immigration Policies.

Limit Social Media's control over Politics.

I think four is better so we can get in there and have more time to help the people in our Districts better.

I believe in term limits. People should not look for politics to stay in order to become millionaires.

Twelve Veterans who have suffered for the past 4-6 years under our current Congressman. He never even processed their paperwork! One lost his house, his family and even tried to commit suicide. Another was on life support for several months.

All twelve Veterans have suffered greatly under this Congressman. They called every month for each of those years. They were told the Congressman was waiting on the VA or the Social Security Administration. Knowing damn well they never even processed the paperwork! All it would have taken was someone to do their job to find out what was actually going on. But they did not do the right thing!

Yes! We have to work together to represent the people in which we serve. Not who gives us the most money.

Together we are a force to be reckoned with!

I believe that we should stop paying all of the other countries and organizations like Planned Parenthood. Then we focus our attention to paying off our debt. Clean up our back yard, sort of speaking.

Don't spend it if we don't have it.

Do Not raise taxes! We have been taxed enough! Just reorganize what we spend our money on.
